This offense is predicated for players that have a great feel for the game and high basketball IQ. That is why the Hill pick is baffling and why you see Wilson lost a lot because he doesnt have a great feel. I think Douglas, and Gallinari have a good feel and that is why they will be good in MDA offense

IMO this should be our rotation:

C - Milicic / Fishlips / Curry
PF - Lee / Hill
SF - Harrington / Gallinari
SG - Chandler / Hughes
PG - Duhon / Robinson / Douglas

Darko can rebound but my God his shot selection is awful. This is why I thought Sessions was such an important get--we need a PG who can penetrate. Mike D needs to say Darko do not go further than five feet from the hoop and he needs to learn how to P+R. Why in the world is he taking 25 footers? He should be taking lay ups and dunks and nothing else. He could be better if the coach enforces him staying near lane to post up deep or roll to the basket. If he can find good position and we get some penetration he will have some easy baskets--his basketball IQ isnt high. It's his mind that holds him back--he doesnt know how to play like a 7 footer.

i agree, his shot selection is awful, but as long as he knows his role is to provide rebounding & shoblocking inside & not be floating around on the perimeter launching up J's then he should be fine like u just mentioned... actually come to think of it, i'd like to see Tony Douglas starting at the PG this year, i really like how he plays the game... he's tough on defense & plays w/intensity, but not over the top like Nate gets all too often... i think he's gonna be a mainstay in the rotation for years to come... mine as well let him get as many minutes at the PG position as possible, this year is another wash year anyways as far as i'm concerned... i'd look to trade Duhon or Hughes this year for a future 2nd round pick if at all possible cuz i don't think either of them have a future on this team after this season... or if u can possibly trade Nate for a future 1st round pick i'd go that route cuz i don't think he'll ever become the under control player MDA wants him to be, he's just not built that way.

Duhon was always just a stopgap player anyway... he won't be here after this season, & neither will Hughes or Darko in all likelihood... i think Al or D Lee have a chance to stick longterm if one of them are willing to sign for a reasonable extension, but i doubt Donnie's gonna break the bank to re-sign either one of them unless we get spurned by all the other bignames in free agency this year... considering Nate got no offers from any teams this past offseason i dunno what his future is to be honest... if he agrees to a low money deal i can see him sticking around, but he's gonna have to really wanna remain a Knick cuz i don't see him getting anything significant from Donnie either in terms of contract extensions... if we can use Lee & Nate to dump Curry & Fishlips' contracts this season i'd still go that route... i think having the flexibility to sign 2 max FA's this offseason should be our main goal this season.
