Earl Clark plays tonight for the Suns as well. Interested to see how he does.

Big Earl Clark fan here, but I'm expecting his career to be one big tease. Like his play at Louisville, he's going to look spectacular some nights and the next night he's going to look like he doesn't even belong.

well, he's been compared to Odom, so... that kind of career would make sense
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Yeah, I would say Odom is a great comparison... great comparison.

Amazing...the "pure shooter" 2-10 lol. what a 'brick layer'. Just like a rookie...no game legs...oh wait...the games don't even count yet? Oh well maybe we should all wait a year before we evaluate him...and everybody else...what say??

Just got done watching a replay of this game (was just flipping back and forth between this and that amazing Detroit/Minnesota baseball game - what a game that was!!)...

Jazz
-Boozer looks good and ready to go, showing no ill effects from last year's injury.
-Koufos is a very smart & talented big man - if Sloan doesn't make time for this kid this year he's retarded. If Koufos grabs that rebound in the end that game's over.
-Wesley Matthews very quitely played very well out there for the Jazz. I'm impressed but not surprised. I can't believe this kid went undrafted. Utah should consider themsleves blessed that this kid was even available. He's a perfect fill-in for CJ Miles who's gonna be out for a while with an injuried thumb (needs surgery). Might actually supplant Miles if he keeps playing like he did in this game where all his positives were on display - NBA-ready body (a well-put-together 6'5" 200+ lbs.), better shooter than you think and a very good drive & finish game. Looked very poised & unselfish too - looked interested in making the right plays and didn't really force anything. This guy's a steal for the Jazz - he'll give Sloan everything he was looking for & couldn't get from Almond. Not only will he make the team but I think he's gonna get substantial minutes.
-Maynor looks a lot smaller out there than what I remember. He really looks very thin. Looking over the box score, he didn't shoot it that great but it looks like he contributed based on what I saw -- saw him pick Jannero Pargo's pocket clean near mid court then moments later, he split two defenders, got right to the rim in a flash and hit Millsap for a nice dunk. Interesting to see what's gonna happen with this guy and Ronnie Price. Maynor may start the season in the D-League.

Bulls
-James Johnson is a very good player. The Bulls really had an excellent draft. Johnson and Taj Gibson are NBA-ready & should be big contributors for the Bulls. Gibson really showed what he can bring - deluxe athleticism & tenacity, strong rebounding & shot-blocking and a better offensive game than people think. That one-handed dunk he threw down on AK-47 in the paint was awesome. All he needs to do is pick his spots better and learn how to channel his energy so he can stay on the court & not foul out too quick. That'll come with experience.
-Jannero Pargo is really an excellent backup PG. One of the best backup PGs in the league.
-Joakim Noah is a solid player. Relentless hustle and energy. When Del Negro decides to go with a front court of Noah at the 5, Gibson at the 4 and Ty Thomas at the 3, that might be the best defensive front court in the game.
-I was impressed with Derrick Byars. This dude's a talented player. He's tough and he can shoot.

The Knicks are going to regret passing up Buddinger. He started tonight and had 15. I think of him alot like Lee in the sense that scouts new everything about him and weren't intrigued by the hidden potential. I think he is a guy teams will regret passing on for along time.

Looks like outside of Blair and Buddinger, everyone in this draft is a bust. Now that I think about it, Griffin didn't even find his way on the court last night. Bust!!!

Blair had 19 rebounds! That's special right there. He has a Barkley-type nose for the ball.

damn...700 posts in about nine years? Whats good, bee?

I’d have about 1000 more if my Veronica Zemanova posts didn’t keep getting kicked off the Alba thread.

What’s up with that.
I'd eat a foot of her crap just to see where it came from. She is other worldly hot.

...on the topic at hand, you really need a couple of years. So many players are late bloomers.
