He's a steady hand. He's not perfect but he's not the worst.

Please tell me what you have seen in Nate Robinson that shows he is anything more than a 5'9 shooting guard.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

All I remember is last year Nate flat out refused to pass the ball to Gallo, and this is the guy we want to be PG? He doesn't pass and he can't or won't defend. All he has on Duhon is speed and penetration, but after he penetrates he is not bery good at getting the ball back out. So why the heck would we play him at PG?
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Basically what I would like to do is takje a second hard look at him in pre season. I know what Duhon can do--but he looked eeerily similar to the Chris Duhon of the 2nd half of the year. I know 1 game but lets be real--CD is a quality back up. That one game that Nate had against the Clips when he started PG last year I think a near triple double 30+ points 14-15 assits 8-9 rebounds--Chris Duhon could never do that. What do we have to lose by starting Nate at PG for 2-3 pre season games?

Duhon started last year on fire. If he can do the same this year, we probably should keep Nate in a 6th man role. I personally think Nate is better, but Nate still has not shown a high-level of skill running the offense. He is better in a role where he can focus more on scoring. A starting PG has alot of responsibility to get everyone their shots. I don't think Nate would flourish in that role.

Nothing wrong with a look at him. I know he gets to run point for one of the teams in practice games.

Ideally he would be paired with a big combo guard.

The thing with Nate is that, after four years, why don't we know what he can do?

He's clearly got the speed and skill level to run point. When he ran point last year in the final third of the season, there were too many injuries and he had to play the AI, one man against the world, role.

He has been a good point on rare occasions, but Marty Collins showed it as much as Nate has in his years here.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Well there is a such thing as late bloomers. Chauncey, Steve Nash, Michael Redd, Corey Maggette and Ben Wallace to say the least, all turned the corner after their 4th/5th year. I don't think we have seen the best of Nate as of yet. However, I will not knock those who think it's time to end the Nate experiment. I just feel that he has shown me enough to warrant a longer look.

I am a late bloomer too.

It might happen. I expect Duhon starts the season at pg. But if Nate shows he can run the team, he might get more minutes doing just that and, at some point, move into the starting job.

I know one thing. Tony Douglas looks pretty slow and stiff. He might be good on defense (reminds me of what everyone was saying about Marty Collins) but I have to see more from him to think he is the PG of the future. On the other hand, Chauncy Billups wasn't or isn't face so who knows?

Martice, Douglas had the fastest sprint time of all the prospects in the Chicago pre-draft camp. He's not slow and he doesn't look stiff to me.
