Lol...yea, right? I mean, the guy just approaches his JOB the right way. Obviously he worked very hard to develop his 3-shot and hopefully this translates to either some increased production or a ticket out of NY.

start this thread when the Knicks are 20-17 and JJ is playing 20+ minutes a night anb doing what he did in the Nets preseason game.

Lavor Postell scored 20 points in back to back games. Every dog has his day

JJ, like Hughes and NoSharington all will be the starters until unseated. And they will.

Like Q last year, High priced Vets get the first crack based on their past cred and high salary. When they are unseated as the starters they can't moan that they were not given a chance. Its also important that the Rookies actually win those minutes and stature for their own self esteem and lockerroom back stabbing. The Vets then have the role of supporting player and leadership even though they are not the starters anymore.

This way the lockerroom stays in place and vets are not grumbling.

Jeffries needs to stay healthy and just be an active body out there. He will give us 5 good fouls and good defense.

I don't care who starts and in fact the other benefit to all this is if the veteran player actually keeps his spot it creates a more competitive environment for him to keep it and if need be they make great trade fodder if an opportunity arises!

Its a win-win! Our ute will get plenty of minutes even if they don't start!

Now you see? Jeffries has really lived up to the hype and he's really contributing on defense. He was lock down on Paul last night when he was on him.

Truly unsung hero.

dude... he sucks. He is being asked to do what he does well, which is play some defense and use his length. He's got good hands and is a decent passer. He gets some key rebounds and is very good on the pick and roll defense when he has to switch guys. He's a role player and an overpriced role player.

If he was a FA right now with no restrictions teams would be lining up to give him the veteran's min. For $5-$7mm? <crickets>

<prairiedogs> No one is saying that he's worth what he is getting, what I be sayin' is that his contributions aren't appreciated enough because he doesn't fill up the stat sheet. He is like a poor man's Bruce Bowen. Bro he is so lanky, gangly even! He affects the game so much on the D.

He has been the highest + or - guy during this streak. He has done many little things to help the team win games and has been viotal to chemsitry during this run. That being said---I have to wonder if there is a team that would be willing to take him:)

Not alone, but in a package with maybe Lee or Nate or something, yea.

The thing about it is, now that we're playing so awesome, it breaks your heart to trade Lee or Chandler. But early this season it was a no brainer that Wilson should go. Man, it's tough being a GM I bet.

You know, I bet the Spurs would love to have him. But I don't know if that's plausible.

I dont know how good Hill is. Only the Knicks do. They see him in practice everyday. So I cant speculate on how valuable he is or isnt. I think if it costs you Hill or Chandler in a package w/ JJ you make that trade if you get anything back thats usefull. Maybe Mike Miller (if healthy) and a first rounder?

I didn't know they had a stat for this, but they said he leads the league in taking charges..almost everything he does never ends up on the stat sheet, yet he did a hell've job against paul, deflecting passes, tapping lose balls to his team mates. He does have a role and does a solid job at it.

jeffries is excelling in the role he was meant for - perimeter stopper - and the other four guys are benefitting immensely on the defensive end...

watching other teams, though, you have to wonder when an opposing coach and his point will accept that Jeffries is a tough beat on the perimeter and instead post whoever duhon is guarding.

the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

I think when MDA and staff choose who JJ is guarding (and remember that Chandler is the SG in this situation) they put Duhon on the guy who can't post or would take the opposing team out of their offense if he did post. Who was Duhon guarding in POR game, Blake? Versus New Orleans, Devin Brown? Those guys don't normally post up.

he's much better suited for this team. I think he's actually a very good fit here and we got lucky. We certainly need everything he brings.

agree... I would even resign him for 2 years $3.5mm after this year. 5 years $36mm? Mind numbing the decisions that regime made.

No, he got lucky to even be in the NBA....in todays premadona market!

But in seriousness, I think JJ is a very good player...

What you can't see on paper, is his IQ....It's one of the highest on the team....

Also, his willingness to not have to be the man....and somebody who finally understands their role! Thats very important...

Thats the problem with todays High Priced NBA players....Back in the days, several championship teams had players like this.

Now these players are in the D league and local city leagues....

FYI....for the old school UK memebers, I was one of the few members living in Tucson, AZ....I've been back east for a month now, and already I've seen countless ball players and football pros on the court.

For the record, JJ is 10 times better than Vernon Davis (TE in the NFL)...

Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland. The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!
