isn't it all about basketball decision making? a player who consistently makes the right basketball play, reads the court correctly, reads his teammates correctly, reads the defense correctly, has a high bbiq. you measure it by watchin a player play and determining how often he makes the right reads and reactions. no?

Has the ability to adjust to in game situations and situations in the long run. Can incoorporate what he does in practice to the game. Learns quickly.

He doesn't have to do everything correctly, just as long as he is quickly learning from his mistakes and his teammates mistakes, as well as his opponents.

Bball IQ isn't always so obvious.

Im kind of drinking the Kool Aid and riding the enthusiasm of Gallo being an impact player as well as Wilson.

If chemistry is good it will feed upon itself and perhaps the team will come together.

I think as fans we tend to look at the individual pieces but not the big picture.

ANd there is no way in hell we can predict whats going to happen over 82 games so gonna tune in and sit back and see how Darko and Lee handle the middle with Eddy doing anything as a bonus. Im hoping Duhan has to carry less of the load and play less minutes so he could be a better player. Even DLee has more help behind him so if he gets into foul trouble its not the end of the world.

I don't expect much from Hill but I expect Douglas could get a few minutes. I expect Larry and Nate to get some good time but don't figure into the future.

Good of briggs to think ahead but no dump is going to take anything back unless we can some how aquire a 2nd fiddle player that we could not in the free agent market and still leave room for Lebron.

I think if we rely on the ute and hit 35-37 games its a decent season as long as we can point to progress.

Stats don't mean a thing and any player gunning for stats must be sat. Larry and Al have enough money and them chucking up should only land them on the bench. Nate is saying all the right things but he really will need to put up some stats. DLee gets his points off the ball and thru rebounds so his doubles should be good, but I expect him to play less minutes and his stats might drop. Thats not a bad thing!

Rebuilding has a different set of criteria! Plenty of tix should be available so new fans can be made to see this young team!

MDA proved himself last year. That team played with enthusiasm and few blow outs even when we lost. It was watchable basketball than the gloom of Isiahs face in its stoic mode. Waiting for Marbury to show up in a dress was the only thing worth waiting for!

It's not just offense either. Shane Battier is one of the best defenders in the league and I bet every team in the NBA would kill to have him. He doesn't have much talent, nor is he the most athletic player in the world. Yet his instincts on defense are off the charts. He knows where to force players, what hands to use, how to position his body and he doincoorporates it in the game. He is also always at the right spot on help defense. And despite his offensive limitations, he knows the exact spots he needs to be hustling to and he gets there. Hard work is the easy part for Shane.

BBall IQ at it's purest.

Than I would start trying to dump everyone on a one year contract for picks young cheap assets or even additional cap space. I think we need to play Jefferies and it seems like he will earn that time anyway. If we are 13-17 or better and showing promise--then I may hold but anything less---dumpathon. If we get out 1-8 or something like that--I may initiate those talks sooner. We have no way to sign back everyone--so if we are not successful or atleast showing serious signs of being successful--I would be trying to pull the trigger early before other teams do.

Shows too much desperation on our part, which is never a good thing when trying to make a trade, or pursuing a woman for that matter. Some teams who may want someone we have as the trade deadline approaches, might not think they need to make that trade earlier in the season. Players we are willing to trade away will have their greatest value when more than one team covets them, but at this point, most of the teams who may eventually come to us for a trade are probably willing to go with what they now have for the first part of the season.

Injuries can change a situation abruptly, so I suppose that we should be hoping for certain players on other teams to get injured, but you have to think that most GMs feel they did everything they could during the offseason to improve their clubs, and are willing to go with what they have at this time. Of course Walsh may get an offer he can't refuse, especially one that lets him get rid of Curry or Jeffries, so all options must be considered, but doing a Crazzie Eddie after a 1-8 start is jumping the gun.

The emergence of one or more of our younger players, and the need to get him/them more playing time by clearing away a veteran or two, would also create a situation where Walsh would reach out to other teams to make a trade, but you still have to choose the right time to pull the trigger in order to get maximum return, IMO.

Good lord....are there really fans out there that STILL don't understand that 2009 is another throw-away-year thanks to Isiah? That our current front office is hell bent on sticking to their plan of which was: Get rid of Isiah's trash. Get flexibility. Be a player in a top FA market year (2010). Rebuild the team.

??????????????????????

There are REALLY fans out there that expect us to be good this year - AND MY GOD IF WE'RE NOT TEAR THIS DOWN!"

??????????????????????

*shakes head*

What world do "you" fans live in?

Someone else help them out for a change I am SICK AND TIRED of explaining our situation as a franchise and the extremely obvious plan of action that is being taken to return this franchise to winning ways.

MDA keeps saying Gallo is the most skilled player out there!

While "wait and see" is prudent before making any judgement, Im kind of looking forward to seeing what he can do!

6-10 shooting guard with a good handle and shot is somting I can get a bit excited about!

Maybe Lebrons second fiddle is already here?

If he is good, the entire mood of the city changes. We go from desperation to "wow, we have a good set of young players". If he performs, then eyes open.
I just hope that people will like me
