It may cheer you guys up to know that at least our worst player isn't the worst player in the league! This guy plays for Chicago now:

Posted by franco12:Posted by PresIke: i'm not really sure how that makes sense. if you look at an all-star team, who can you say is the best player there? or even easier... the u.s. olympic team. kobe, lebron, wade, paul, etc. this doesn't mean we don't have good players, we just don't have a great player on our team, and we have more than a few who are just not that good at enough things to help us be a consistent winner. that's beginning to change, and we'll see how we do with mostly the same roster who have already played here and with d'antoni last year, and a full training camp. duhon said that keeping the roster consistent might be helpful, and actually he's right in that most good teams don't constantly make a lot of big roster changes. last year we started off well before we traded our most talented guys who were here during camp (jamal and z-bo). no matter what you think of those guys, they at least were trained in d'antoni's system. as the season went on last year, after all the deals, d'antoni pretty much abandoned his system and went with a go with whoever's hot approach, which was most often harrington. walsh has said that what may have hurt us most last year was the latter deals where we already went through a big change with the crawford and randolph deals early in the season, and then two more deals at the trade deadline. with a healthy gallo and mostly the same guys here again, maybe that will help us. however, we do know that we are going to look to deal this year, especially guys like curry and jeffries, or if a big star we want is available...with all of our ending deals + the more valuable mobley deal, we could be players in that market, but at least it would be for more than someone like a marginal overpaid decent malcontent talent in hughes. Posted by PresIke: THANK YOU PRESIKE!!! You get 3 I think we've seen this team underachieve under Isiah and also be subject to some of the worst luck of any Knick team over a period of time. Almost nothing has gone right. That said, we all have acknowledged that the talent hasn't been that bad, but the result has. Under MDA we saw at the start of the year what a difference a good coach can make. The team was playing well and if not for the trades it's likely that they would've won a lot more games. is it a stretch to think they could've gone .500 if left untouched? We don't have superstars, but we may have emerging young stars. I'm looking forward to this season, cuz I think it's gonna be the 1st fair shot we'll have to see what we have and then go into 2010 with a better idea of what to do to make the team better. |

In short: No.
In long: No. Celtics - Pierce, Allen, KG Nets - Harris Raptors - Bosh Sixers - Igoudala, Brand Bulls - Rose Cavaliers - 'Nough said Pistons - Gordon, Prince Pacers - Granger Bucks - Redd, Bogut Hawks - Smith, Johnson, Horford Bobcats - Wallace, Augustin Heat - Wade Magic - Dwight Wizards - Butler, Arenas, Jamison Mavericks - Dirk Rockets - Yao Grizzlies - Gay, Mayo Hornets - Paul, Okafor Spurs - Duncan Nuggets - Carmelo Timberwolves - Jefferson Thunder - Durant, Green Blazers - Aldridge, Roy Jazz - Boozer, D Williams Warriors - debatable Clippers - Griffin, Gordon? Lakers - Kobe, Gasol Suns - Amare, Nash Kings - Martin So one team is debatable - the Warriors. That's it. Thank you, Rick Brunson.

GKF:
Nate Robinson is better than Devin Harris. That's right, I said it. He's also better than Ben Gordan. Prince is a nice role player who can hit a 3 and block a shot, but Al Harrington and Lee are both better. Augustine hasn't done sheeeot yet and I would take Nate over him. Boozer is real nice but is he THAT much better than David Lee, when Boozer himself doesn't play any defense? I would say he's not that much better. “Whenever I’m about to do something, I think ‘Would an idiot do that?’ and if they would, I do NOT do that thing.”- Dwight Schrute

Posted by Allanfan20: He's a better scorer (Boozer) so yes. And Nate better than Harris? Nah, I don't think so. Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Lee is a better rebounder and Boozer maybe a better scorer but not by a ton.
Harris is not better than Nate. He may be a better passer but Nate is the better overall player. Book it. “Whenever I’m about to do something, I think ‘Would an idiot do that?’ and if they would, I do NOT do that thing.”- Dwight Schrute

Posted by Allanfan20: Who plays more within an offense? Who keeps their emotions in check? Who doesn't commit dumb turnovers? I don't think this can be used to describe Nate. I don't think there's many GM's in the league who take Nate over Harris and I don't either. Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Bonn, do you REALLY think Ben Gordan is a better player than Nate Robinson? Lets be honest and take a look at their games here and when you do come back with an answer.
Nate does a lot more than Ben and may very well be just as good a shooter. “Whenever I’m about to do something, I think ‘Would an idiot do that?’ and if they would, I do NOT do that thing.”- Dwight Schrute

Just to throw it out there..
We might have one of the best collections of young players in the league with Chandler, Gallo, Hill, Lee and Nate. I can't imagine finding a team with 5 better young players than that. "OMG - did we just go on a two-trade-wining-streak?" -SupremeCommander

Posted by nyk4ever: Yeah, we don't have a star so people aren't excited about our long-term prospects. To me that makes sense because you clearly cannot win unless you have a star, but.............I think in all our pessimism many of us have missed the fact that we have put together a very solid young core. Add a star to this, and this team is pretty good. I just hope that people will like me
