Nah, Spree isn't superman. But, you're right on Van "cant play defense" horn doesn't even belong on a elemtary school blacktop, let alone a middle school playground. Damn I hate that guys game, it's garbage. No joke.
You should hate Clarence, Othella and Eisely's more than you should hate KVH! Those are the one's that don't belong on the court! Atleast you have more years with Keith. Spree's speed is going downhill and thats the key to his game!

Silver...

KVH has been soft, is soft, and will continue to remain soft all through that insane contract of his. That is the problem. He's a bust. The Knicks lead the NBA in TO's and guess who leads the team in that category??? You guessed it- Ya boy Keith Van Horn.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Leaving him unprotected for the expansion draft would be a perfect solution! How does that work? They just pick a certain amount of players from teams that leave them unprotected and the teams get cap relief?

HARDCORE: Here is the thing. Van Horn is basically another Allan Houston. Cannot defend and not an excellent ball handler. He is not shooting so well right now but his FG% from the years past (never below 44% after 1998) lead me to believe that he will start to shoot better.

His contract is insane, can't argue that but he has more potential than what he is showing right now. As for his TO's, Allan Houston and Charlie Ward are close behind. He is not my boy but I definately dont hate him as much as I hate some of the other players.

Yeah... Well every team get to protect 8 players on its roster. The rest are available to be selected by the expansion team, in this case, the Bobcats.

Here's an article dealing with the specifics of the upcoming expansion draft:

It really is a possibility. A quick fix for a BAD move.

Well IMO KVH, Spoon, Othella and Eisley gotta go. Most of them (all except Othella) have bad contrtacts that kill our cap for years. We need players that add to the repertoire of needed skills on the team. We need players with offensive abilities and that are defensively sound. We need more athletic playerswho have some fire.

If we trade and/or leave them exposed for the expansion draft, we'll be in a better situation to aquire some of the skills we lack rosterwise.

BTW I know you're not a member of the KVH fanclub. LOL Don't worry.

Nobody's picking up KVH from the expansion draft. Think we're the only ones who notice his TO's and lousy contract. If teams can only protect 8, there will be some good players available, and some who don't have horendous contracts. Questions is: will we protect H2O. Way he's playing, it would be hard to leave him unprotected, but if we're committed to rebuilding, losing his contract would be the thing to do.

sometimes balance FAR outweighs the value of the player.

The Bos/Cle trade is a perfect example. Cle gets fleeced from a talent perspective, but watch, Cle will benefit from this trade and it was a smart trade. They have some nice flashy pieces, they have some nice scorers in James, Wagner (soon), Miles...

What they need is a couple of blue collar guys to play d and work the boards. Battie and Williams are the perfect pros for that team and for Silas. Also they say goodbuy to a headache in Ricky.

EVERY trade Layden has made has been bad. The KVH trade is terrible. NOT because Spree is so much better, but because KVH wasnt going to help this team, and Layden wasnt going to give him what he needs to succeed.

This is a terrible roster because the none of the parts compliment each other. Shandon looks so great because he's the only player with a different game than everyone else on the roster.

Getting KVH was a good move, the problem is we traded the wrong guy(s) for him. Think about how different this team would be if we traded Thomas and Ward for KVH to play PF (yes, his natural position).
pg Eisley
sg Houston
sf Sprewell
pf KVH
c Deke
THAT would have been a nice line up, especially in the East. Then when McDyess comes back your bringing Anderson and either Spree or KVH off the bench, with plenty of minutes to go around there. You have size, great speed, an extra playmaker, slashers, shooters. I nice mix.

Except for the obviously bad contracts there are a lot of good players on this roster. The problem is none of them fit together and its pretty obvious why (except to our GM).

Hey doesn't ward AND houston have more turnovers than KVH?
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Ward is very close (I think 3 TO's away ) and Houston is 9 TO's away from Van Horn but Houston has played a lot less games. Van Horn is not that bad.

KVH IS that bad. He is #6 in the NBA in TO's per game. Let's not even try to play that down.
