I take the following things as basic tenets of Walsh's GM philosophy since he took over: He doesn't want to make any moves that would jeopardize his cap space in 2010. He wants to shed salaries going into 2010. He would love to have money to sign 2 Max FAs under the cap. I think most of his moves and non-moves can be attributed to the above. Some of us don't think this philosophy is wise. Bitty, Johnwallace, Briggs, djsu.... to name a few. It made me wonder if most Knick fans are of the same mind. Obviously most knicks fans think this was a boring summer. Are you upset with the philosophy or are you upset with Walsh's execustion?
I disagree with the plan Walsh has put forth
I agree with the plan, but Walsh has made a few mistakes executing the plan
I agree with the plan, and Walsh has basically done everything he could have done so far

Kinda silly to criticize Walsh for moves not made based on media rumors and speculation. No one knows what really goes on behind the scenes, including these so-called insiders.

He's done fine executing his plan for 2010, despite some temptaion to sign Session or Lee to a long term deal. He's shown that plan is his top priority. His missteps may come when trying to deal off Curry & Jefferies.

And I will repeat that you will never get a draft pick for Zach Randolph or Jamal Crawford.

we got Al Harrington for Jamal... u don't think we can get at least a late 1st round pick for Al Harrington in a trade? i do.

Uh. We got Harrington from a lottery team. They weren't trading us their current or future picks for Jamal.

no sh!t we got Al from a lottery team, but u think a contending team wouldnt give up their 1st rounder to add a scorer like him to their squad right now? who said anything about getting high lottery picks for guys like Jamal or Al Harrington?

No. I don't think anyone would give a 1st round pick (high or low) for Jamal Crawford or Zach Randolph, which is what subzero has been saying repeatedly. This has nothing to do with Al Harrington. He thinks we could have gotten more out of those trades when the fact that they're been traded again for even worse players since leaving NY tends to tell a different story.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

i think we could have easily gotten a late 1st round pick for Jamal if Donnie didnt care about trying to contend last year. In that aspect i think sebstar is 100% right. i didnt complain about getting Al cuz i always liked him as a player but there were other options to get a pick if Donnie was solely focused on the draft.

I have no problems with Donnie's plan. We are rebuilding and rebuilding takes time. As far down as we were to be even be in the game in 2010 is a miracle. We will see what happens from here. I don't hold the non-moves against Donnie any more then I held them against Isiah because we have no idea what went on behind closed doors. What is reported is NEVER what really went on. So I will pass on those.

The free agency thing is fine with me. I don't understand the logic behind targeting a marginal mid level guy, or overpaying for a marginal upper mid-level guy, when you can save that money and go in full guns blazing in 2010 and 2011. We are better off remaining patient, letting Chandler and Gall show us what they have by leading us without vets in their way and then going all in for the next two free-agent periods. Again, worst case scenario if you don't get a free-agent in 2010 is cap space, 2 lottery picks on your roster, a couple other recent first rounders and a top pick in 2011.
I just hope that people will like me
