I would have taken Derozan for his upside but I have no reason to complain about Hill at this point. He has potential as well.

The only player on the Knicks with more potential is Gallo.

I have absolutely no problem with them picking Jordan Hill. It has nothing at all with him being the "safe pick." To me, with the possibility looming that David Lee might be moving on, drafting Hill was the right pick at 8. Not before long, he'll prove that he's a better player than Lee anyway. Not to mention the guy has 8th pick type talent anyway, he's that good. He was the 2nd best big man in this draft behind Griffin. Better than Thabeet. 100% no doubt in my mind, and he'll prove that..

Douglas, truth be told I didn't follow that closely in college so it came as a surprise to me when we landed him, but after watching him in summer league, I think there's a lot to build on with this kid.

brandon jennings had a fantastic summer league and looks like he was made to run d'antoni's offense. good shot, very fast, excellent passer (who is always looking to pass), plus a lot of flair which would've been perfect for NY.

briggs you could've gotten blair with the 2nd first rounder had they taken a point with the first pick.

I really like Daye and think he would excel in this system.
I also liked Jennings a lot.

The one thing that I wish would have happened was to give those two guys full workouts. And if after then they still chose Hill then I have no problem. I still have no problem with Hill as I think he will be a great player but feel like they locked out great players from working out and why?

Ty Lawson or Brandon Jennings. Save this post and use it to mock me later when I'm wrong.
Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

Dude, after watching Thabeet play in SL, I am questioning what the hell anybody was thinking drafting him so high. That guy is the definition of "raw" and that is even after he stayed an extra year in college. I highly doubt he will be any better than Diop and he has about 3 years of work to do before he gets to that level. I am SO GLAD we dropped too far to draft him. I totally agree that Hill is a better big man and if Hill can gain some strength and work on that shot, he could be a very solid pickup for us.

I don't have a problem with Hill. He tested out almost a perfect match to Amare athletically. I'm not resting my opinion if him on SL. That said I like Jennings in terms of overall potential. Daye cuz of his size and skills could be tailor made for our style.

why the amare comparisons, he came out of high school and was more of a man child, was much stronger then hill, and was a few years younger at it.

DAntoni said Hill reminded him of Amare after his workout... thats probably the reason for the reference

Yeah, I don't see the Amare comparison. Amare seems to have a larger frame and is more fluid. Hill certainly is not a stiff, but he is not as fluid an athlete as Amare. He reminds me of Mikki Moore with a better jumpshot. Some analysts were comparing him to Dale Davis. If he can be as good as Dale Davis on defense and rebounding, we would have a very solid prospect. He already is a better shooter than Dale Davis ever was.

Brandon Jennings is a guy i'm looking at now...but I still like Jordan Hill enough not to be to concerned with the pick...I mean someone has to be picked and someone isn't. Toney Douglas was a good pick where the Knicks got him...Blair and Sam Young were the only other two players picked after him that were on par or better.

I didnt really know about Douglas at the time of the draft but after looking at all the video etc I really like his game.

If you asked me at the time of the draft I would have said Terrence Williams and Blair. I really didnt know anyone else on the board besides Blair.

If I had the choice now it would Terrence Williams and Douglas. I think those two would really help our biggest need which is defense on the wings.

That being said I think Hill was a good pick and good talent there. I think he's far more explosive than Moore. Not really sure who to compare him to. Maybe a Chris Anderson on D and KMart on offense? Not really worried about either. I think they are good fits

If you're talkin' Toney Douglas, then I would have picked Blair over him, for sure, or Young, yea. But for the Hill pick, that stays the Hill pick.
