Hey it's all good. Al's a good player and appears to be a pretty good guy too. But as you all know, money talks. Let me see Al take a portion of the MLE in order to stay here. And even then, do we even want him back??? Come on, if Al puts up pretty big numbers again (he did go for 20 & 6 last year) he's gonna want to get paid. Period. Plus, if we have some other options at the 3 either on the roster by then or on our radar by next year or the year after (Chandler, Outlaw, LeBron, maybe Melo in 2011, who knows), it wouldn't really make too much sense to extend his contract to stay here long-term, would it? Even though Donnie loves him, I just don't picture him staying here past this season. He's also not getting any younger - if he puts up numbers close to last year again, this will be his last shot at getting a good contract.

I think this is right up there with Marbs' "I'm the best point guard in the NBA" and Postell's "I'm an all-star on the rise" statements.

Lavor??

Dime: What is your take on the two rookies Jordan Hill and Toney Douglas?
AH: I really don’t know that much about them. I played with the first time the other day at pickup at the practice facility. Douglas is very good young player with a lot of energy defensively and he can score the ball. Jordan Hill is a great athlete. He’s going to help block shots and clog up the middle for us. It’s going to take time with them, but I think they’re going to be good.

Who would ever come out and say "Hey those guys we drafted are going to suck. I've been BUSTING them up in practice. We shoulda taken Brandon Jennings. Now THAT cat can play."
Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

I'm with Sebstar on this one. Why the hatt for Al. Allow me to recap

1.) Two dumb technicals
2.) Poor shot selection at times
3.) Busts his butt for us. Has played hard despite the fact that his future here is not set in stone
4.) Wants to be here
5.) Scores 20 and gets 6-7 rebounds every game. Now we don't want him being our number one guy but there is definitely a role for a guy like that here
6.) A starter that did not complain one bit when we put him on the bench. He played just as hard and accepted his role
7.) Not everyone can be a star
8.) Let's play make believe. Let's say Gallo and Wilson improve like they should. Harrington off your bench? How many bench players are better?
9.) I don't like his defense
10.) I like his confidence even though I think he is delusional. He is not a star.

There is a definite role for a guy like this. I have no problems with Al. He's not my favorite player, but at the right price he could really help us.
I just hope that people will like me

funny at all the hate for a guy who is a good player, is in the prime of his career, is from the city and is very consistent in his claims of wanting to be a part of this franchise in the coming years.

But we'll just harp on the little mistakes he made last year and dismiss him. Keep my man Lebron away from these forums.

I'm witcho, seb. Back off Al. He's a good player and a good soldier. If he can get better money elsewhere and leaves so be it.
No crime in that. But while he's been here, he's been aiight.

I do not disagreee. He has talent and skills.
The only little things why he is not a star - he is dumb and he has no harizma and drive to be the best.
It's a bunch of players like this in NBA. He is replaceble in so many ways so I do not know what we are talking about.

He is part of the plan. His expiring contract was acquired as part of the plan.
