Think Thorn would even entertain a S&T with us - how 'bout a resigned David Lee for Tony Battie & Courtney Lee?? They'd add a fine long-term player in David Lee and still have some cap flexibility for next summer and beyond. They have a lot of flexibility when deciding what to do with their bigs - Lopez is obviously there to stay, but they hold team options on Yi and Sean Williams and a QO for Josh Boone. I'd say David Lee's a better, more productive player than those last 3 guys, no?

probably not since david is not much of an upgrade over those guys and he wants major $. That would not be good for the cap space in 2010.

would want to add him to Wilson as the starting wings. NJ drafted Terrance Wilson and Yi is not gonna get it done. Wonder if NJ would do a S&T based around the 2 Lee's. Most of their players contracts expire at seasons end:

Those are pretty anemic stats. He's gotta be one of the worst rebounders and passers (by assist #s) in the league. 8 points is OK I guess.

I take it you never watched Orlando play even thru the Finals.
You posted stats and I commented on them. If you wanted comments on the finals rather than on the stats, you took a strange approach.

bonn takes a break from grading papers and lays it out how it is.

Lee is a good player but he isn't Vince Carter and he will not be as good a player as Chandler. The NJ trade was made for cap flexibility in 2010 or to sell the team. Orlando got Carter and another four that can hit the three in Ryan Anderson. I don't think anyone on the Nets gets traded except Alston and maybe a contract. Thorn always seems to improve the Nets every time he makes a trade.

sometimes he does, but i think they took a huge step back talent wise with the Vince/Anderson for Alston/Lee/Battie trade as well as the RJ for Yi/Simmons trade... those were all about cap relief & future potential, but he didn't improve the team at all.

Rod Thorn is so overrated it's ridiculous. He's made a couple great moves, but he doesn't exactly have the Midas Touch. His drafting sure isn't great, and like TMS said, he may have made trades that helped the team save money, but it sure didn't help them from a basketball standpoint.

Richard Jefferson just turned San Antonio into title contenders for a few years, again.

Wait, is this the same guy that took a Net team that was in the finals and broke it up instead of adding a few pieces to win it all?

Yo Rod Thorn is an incredible GM considering his circumstances. Ownership told him to cut costs and trim up in expectation of their move to brooklyn. If he had free reign, he could have pushed them over the cusp, no doubt in my mind. and as it stands now, they're in good position for next year with a good young core.

they tried for a few years but they knew Jason Kidd was on the decline & didn't wanna money up to keep Kenyon Martin longterm... as it turns out that was the right call on Thorn's part on both decisions... like the song goes, u got to know when to hold em & know when to fold em... after he decided to rebuild again it pretty much sealed RJ's fate as well... i'm not gonna rag on Rod Thorn because he decided to do what he did... i wish Isiah had the foresight to do the same rather than trying to compete with a completely flawed roster like he did & kept adding onto the mess w/bad contract after bad contract.

basketball fans thought so too...but comparing Chander to Lee in a trade...I still stand by Chandler. I would love to get the kid if that were possible but I don't think it is right now. Nets aren't gonna give that kid away.

Courtney Lee is a stud aand that who we should have got late last year in the draft. We can only hope Douglas will be that good.

This trade is absurd. Chandler is twice the player this kid is and on both ends of the floor. He was getting spot minutes and they had Reddick starting at the two.

Nelson, Lewis, Howard, you should average double figures in your sleep. Wilson is still very young and would be going into his senior year and does a lot of things other players can't. He is putting up 15pts a game this season with 7rbs you don't trade that.

Torkoglu Petrius...there is only 1 ball

not trading Chandler for him has nothing to do with scoring numbers

PS
Courtney Lee started 42 games, JJ Reddick started 5

if they had two balls, then scoring would go up but then so would the criticism of mda's defense. how do you play defense with two balls?
