Papabear Says
If Rubio gets hurt or is not what he is thought out to be, Minny is dead in the water. They new he didn't want to be there. Maybe there should be a new rule stating that if you get drafted by a team you don't want to be with and you are a top ten pick you can work out a deal just as long as the team you are going to is willing to give up thier draft pick to the other team. Ahh something like that.

agree with Marv... with that high a pick u gotta get the player u want or trade it to get value. if that were Donnie we would all be calling for his head if the guy he draftef ended up signing with a Euro team instead.

Kahn and the Wolves are getting man-handled by a teenager who hasn't proven jack yet.

This is nothing but pure weakness on Kahn's part. Weak manager.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

I dont think we will see Rubio in the NBA - how many times have we seen Euro's spurn the Knicks like this and never end up here? Sure the hype around Rubio is bigger than the players we have drafted, but its still the same story.

he may not... US players don't even want to go to one of the greatest cities in the world (Toronto). I don't think it's so crazy that Rubio just wants to stay unshaven, chain smoke marb reds, vacation in the South of France, maintain a weird haircut, wear tight torn up acid washed jeans, and listen to music that just makes you want to dance. It's home.

Had he been drafted by LA or NY I think he would've come. what 18 year old doesn't want to be a millionaire in either city but now we'll probably never know

Playing for another team besides Jovonut is about Barcelona paying his buyout, giving him more than the 92k he was to make and he is all of 20 in two years. Plays at home also, not Siberia.

If he continues to get better, he'll get big money in Europoe not that rookie money scale in the NBA.

This is not about the weather or even NYC. ITs about money. LOts of it.

Kahn and his owner better understand they lose leverage by the day and could end up with a kid who has a dream to play in the NBA, but gets 10-20mil from the big euro teams.

Then Minny can't afford to pay him.

I would imagine that Kahn, like McHale is a pawn of the owner and its why McHale stuck for so long. This is not on Kahns back, and Stern has no hand with Taylor after he got him good with the Joe Smith signing suspension years ago. Taylor must hate Stern for what he did.

i remember people were giving Layden flack for Milos Vujanic not coming over, I can just imagine the flack Donnie would get had he used a #5 overall pick on Rubio and he ended up opting to play overseas instead.

Kahn isn't stupid, just because he is taking his time. Like DW, he is patient. That doesn't imply stupid. While I don't think it would be smart to draft at #5 and end up with nothing, he can still trade Rubio's rights to another team whenever he wants, such as when he finds a player who will help his team (either a FA or in next year's draft). Hopefully, Kahn IS stupid and trades Rubio to the Knicks for Lee and N8.

Rushing to make a deal before you know what value you are trading is what idiot GMs like Isaiah do, to placate obnoxious fans or owners. But that doesn't make it a smart idea.

You can't judge Kahn on this move until you discover how it plays out. You will most likely be surprised. It's really strating to look like Rubio will either play in Spain for two years, or his people are trying to increase leverage for a trade, hopefully to NY.
