Gallo showed me a lot even playing hurt. If he gets to a point where he's able to play relatively pain free I expect good things from him. He was pretty much relagated to the perimeter. That took away a big part his game taking bigger slower guys off the dribble.

See!
You know I'm a man of great (blind) faith Bip. Really tho I looked at his stats when he had a few days rest and there was a noticeable improvement. It just underscored the fact that the back was holding him down. You've got to believe he's gonna be better by the start of next season. Even with the limitations he's still poppin j's like a stud. There haven't been any reports of setbacks so I see no need for pessimism. The way I work is that I give the benefit of the doubt until I see him hobble off the floor holding his back.

I'm not pessimistic about Gallo, I'm just not optimistic. I'm more like just plain old mistic

Right. He could be good. Then again, he could be bad. He also might be just okay.

My stand is firm on this point.

I guess that covers it.

via Hahn's twitter.
Source sez Gallo (in Italy now) looks fantastic. Pain-free; fitness level very high. I expect him to be the centerpiece of offense: Pt.-fwd.

boring offseason so far. does gallo's apparent health fire you up? gallo's development might be the most interesting aspect of this upcoming season. we need duke to get busy. this news (hopefully true) is a positive sign during a mostly uneventful summer. in any event, we haven't had any major arguments on gallo in awhile so have at it guys.

ps: my band is in danbury, ct tonight. philly, pa tomorrow. long branch, nj this sunday.

Evil, you play in CT a lot? I'm in those parts from time to time. I'd love to come and watch you guys. I really haven't boo'd someone in a while and this would give me a good opportunity.

It's tough for me to get excited for anything in Knicks land. Every year we hear how great guys look and every year..........nothing. When Gallo does it on the floor knick fans will cheer. Until then, I think Nixluva is on his own.

we did pretty well last night so we'll probably be in CT more often. i'll let you know because if there's one thing last night's show was missing, it's a grown ass man who hangs with teddy bears.

i'm excited for gallo. he's gonna be so good next year guys like wade, lebron and bosh are gonna take pay cuts to play with him. but seriously, if the kid is truly better then that's another solid piece added to the foundation. he barely played last year. him and wil are the two reasons to watch next season.

That's the thing with Euros vs. American players.

In America, it's Twitter showtime every time Mr. Star hits the gym or does yoga or pilates or loses 10 lbs.

In Europe, guys work, professionally, like it's a job (BECAUSE IT IS), and they come in improved and stronger.

I need not mention Dirk's unorthodox trainging regimen in Germany nor do I need to mention Dirk's PROFESSIONAL acceptance of the Mavs' ruling on him playing international ball.

Moral of the story is-- Americans have lots to learn from their European counterparts in terms of professionalism and even on-court demeanor.

our playoff hopes really are dependent on this guy making a huge leap this year. He showed in limited action that he is a solid scorer with enough toughness to survive on defense. I did not like the pick orginally, but if his back is 100%, I think he could be Dirk-lite for us next year. With an improving Chandler, hopefully a solid addition in Sessions, and with the addition of a true center in Darko who can block some shots, our team should be 6-10 games better than last year (if we keep Lee and Nate).

Word.

I'm tellin' ya, this is shaping up to be a sleeper-hit; a-la '99 8th seed. Darko blocking, Gallo as Dirk-Light and the loads of other talent we have plus a player-coach and the budding enthusiasm of a post-recession tri-state sepll out GOOD THINGS for the Bockers this year.

Wait are we still debating if Gallo is a talented prospect? The guy was nowhere near 100% last yr and still showed he had an impact on games when he was able to go. I expect the guy to be much improved and a key part of any success we have this yr.

We wanted to know if he was truly a deadeye shooter. did he have the balls to play at the NBA level. Did he have a high BB IQ, passing, mobility and handle. He showed all of those things. You don't have use much imagination to see the guy being much better if healthy. From all reports he's getting better.

No, we are debating if he will have an impact on wins. We've had plenty of talent on the roster over the years and none of them have affected wins. Can Gallo? Based on what we saw last year(yes he was injured) no one knows. So whether you are optimsitic or pessimistic you are still only guessing at this point

What is it about each one that you find interesting?

Dirk is interesting because he was the first truly awesome 7 footer that could shoot threes and also be a team leader. Well, there was Bird, but I don't think he was 7 feet. Plus Dirk was the first truly dominant European, so that's cool.

Bogut is interesting to me because he shares my South Slavic heritage and I also have family in Australia, so it's like a double-connection.

Duncan I admire for his stoic professionalism and his rock-solid fundamentals. He is a master not only of his strengths, but a master at knowing his limitations as well.

Nash is interesting because of what he did in Phoenix. Even though I was a fun of the Nash-Dirk combo, in many ways his play in Phoenix is what 'made' his career. He brought fun back to the league and while the Knicks were stinking it up I had a legit team to root for.

Ill Will, Wilson Chandler, is interesting to me because I see him, along with Gallo, as a cornerstone of the Knicks franchise for years to come. I really believe he will be an all-star. He can dunk, he's athletic as hell, and he brings a no nonsense demeanor to the court which tells me that he is a committed professional-- as opposed to, say, Nate Robinson, who sometimes seems like he's only there for the cameras.

Who are your top 5 fav players?

I kind of disagree. Sure he was a part time player and was clearly hampered by his bad back, but when he got minutes he generally had a net positive impact. He has some intangible effect on how the team played when he was on the floor. From what I saw you could see how a healthy Gallo would eventually be an impact player even as a 20 yr old rookie, foreign born, injury plagued player his talent shined thru. When he was feelin good you just see the stud in him comin out.

I think the only issue is how good the back will be over 82 and not if he's an impact type player. To me he has the skill and temperment of an impact player. I'd be shocked if at the end of the yr he's not one of our top go to players.

I guess my I just assumed we all saw Gallo's positive effect on the team when he was on the floor. Also he had some flashes of really good play where he started to show that stud like ability to want the ball in crunchtime. I don't sense any fear or lack of confidence in him.

We know he's got the talent to be an impact player and I feel he's got the swagger too. Once a guy with his skills realizes he can't be stopped they become dangerous. It's what I've been waiting for Chandler to realize and I think he gets that now too.
