Nate just apologized via twitter...he said the ticket got mailed to his Seattle address. Fair enough...way to ruin a day. No dogs were killed, no people were shot, no vaseline was eaten....

To All My Tweeps: I was irresponsible earlier when I tweeted about being pulled over.

I thought it was for tinted windows but turns out I had an unpaid ticket and I wasn't aware the ticket had been mailed to my Seattle address...

This resulted to a suspended license.

I apologize to the Knicks, my family and fans.

I also want to thank the NYPD especially the arresting officer. He was fair and helped process me quickly.

I promise to get this all cleared up.

Driving with a suspended Lic, arrested, dark tint for a celeb, are you kidding me. Wow that cop or cops should be proud to arrest scum of the earth like nate robbinson. The last thing the city needs is another punk driving around causing no trouble

I would put that cop or cops in plain cloths, gold shields, straight to homicide...good work boys. Its exactly what we need "Quality of Life" in these economic times, overtime well earned.

While I agree that he may not have been causing trouble, did you READ his list of citations, non-payments, and not showing up for court for relatively minor infractions??

Im going to pick him up for failing to pay a speeding ticket for $75 and use another $500 of the cities money to process him, from the hourly pay to the overtime.. Brilliant.

I didn't say it was economical......

I just read he apologized. Nice gesture but the real apology is actually not letting the same thing happen again...I just hope the 5th time isbthe time he learns his lesson......

I don't think his agent talked to him Seriously if this was his wake up call for disregarding basic road rules--so be it. You have to take a man at his word until proven otherwise and if he didnt know it was sent to Seattle than give him benefit of the doubt

This infraction does not spell the end of Nay Nate here but it does confirm what a chatterbox hyper persona he is which makes taking anything serious difficult. This little clown is a gifted athlete no doubt but does he make for a good investment long term

A small athletic freak is a wonder to behold but when small injuries start to hamper his flight his ability will diminish quickly. A 6-6 shooting guard can work on his fundamentals over time and compensate for losing a step and hang time but a 5-8 shooting guard needs all his quickness and vert to not just suceed, but stay in the league.

I like the kid, like his game but don't like his head for the game.

Nate's troubles are not the worse thing in the world (at least his driver is not accusing him of sexual harrassment). However, five suspenses is a bit much for someone who can clearly pay the fine. It shows a lack of maturity that is visible on the court. I think his chances of staying took a hit but if he is willing to tAke a one year deal, walsh will sign him.

Its over a parking ticket, I highly doubt Knicks brass are going to fret over this - I mean its not like he was running a dog fighting ring out of his home, or he hit and killed a pedestrian while driving under the influence, or he goes through an annual ritual of torturing the public about whether or not he is really retired for good.

There is a big difference between this and a felony, but I guess if they are looking for an excuse they have one - even if it is lame.

Nate says a guy from the NY Post was at his house @8am looking for a story. NY Post is cold blooded.

The schnappers hate professional athletes, that's why they get high fives all around every time they bring one down (i.e., Plax, et al). It's envy, if you ask me. But Nate needs to get slapped around so he can realize that life is not just a joke. He needs to be serious and focused. He has major potential, and if he fritters it away on idiotic stuff, he will be just one among so many who preceded him.

He's gone man. If there was any thought of bringing him back for a 1 year deal, it may have just gone out the window. D'Antoni doesn't like him anyway - he doesn't want to deal with this guy anymore. Sad, this guy's got great talent for such a little dude, but his head's just not screwed on right. Not as bad as Marbury, but bad. I just get the feeling management thinks he's too much of a handful and more trouble than he's worth. Maybe I'm wrong but I'd say at this point, the only reason he'll be resigned is to be included in a S&T, not to actually continue playing for the Knicks.

Papabear Says
Come on man you can get your license suspended for a parking ticket that may have fallen off his car.

Please the cops in White Plain have nothing to do, they jump for joy when there is roadwork or a funeral. With that said you don't really have to do, it doesn't take much to get pulled over in WP because it break up these guys day. I'm sure all of you here drive within the posted speed limits ALL THE TIME

but we all have our seatbelts on. And most of us can afford a bluetooth headset so we can talk on the cell while driving. And when we get a ticket, we pay it on time.

I cannot believe this made such a stir. He got ticketed for either an infraction(driving without a license) or a misdemeanor(driving on a suspended license), as it is not clear from the reports. Driving on a suspended license is one of the least serious misdemeanors. And, to prove it you have to prove that the person knew his license was suspended, which it appears nate did not. DMV frequently has problems notifying people by mail that they have suspended someone's license.

Somone said something about 60-90 days in the hole for this offense. No way. In California it carries a 1200 fine, which generally gets reduced to an infraction if someone gets there license back, which is fine of a few hundred.

The way you see so many athletes being pulled over for more serious things like driving under the influence(which could really hurt someone and is a Felony in Canada), it amazes me this is a story as this kid is generally staying out of trouble. So he speeds a little, who doesn't and who wouldn't expect it from him?

This story is pretty stupid.

it is a bit of a stupid story, but it is also a reflection on the larger context of Nate's maturity and perhaps why the team is hesitant to sign him long term.

regardless of what the infraction was (i.e.: speeding ticket, etc), maturity is not shown by twittering people while its going on to tell them. team's whole beef with nate is his lack of maturity (decisions he makes on the court and off), so if i was nate and wanting a contract, i would do my best to not be perceived as immature. what he did was immature. and, donnie and d'antoni are not kids, they are grown ass men with alot of pressure on them to succeed in NY - do you think they want to have to deal with this type of stuff from nate....in the offseason?

It depends--I agree it is stupid IF it is NOT true that he has been under suspension 5 times. If it is true that his license has been suspended 5 times--they need to throw a scare into him--something like a 60-90 day suspended sentence--meaning Nate don't do this again if it is TRE that he has done this 5 times. I initially thought this was a first time suspension and than you go it absolute no story---if it is 5 times--than it shows a disregard for law.
