I'll tell you what, last year was a disaster for Iverson, but 2 yrs ago was one of his best seasons in the league IMO. His FG% was way up, his turnovers were down- I mean we are talking about a player who is not far removed from 26 ppg, 7 apg, 2 spg and 46% FG. That is still an NBA superstar.

Getting him for 1 year at a mid-level exception price is really tempting.

it's tempting but what does it accomplish?

Perhaps it adds a few wins. But perhaps it takes away from the development of so many young players that need shots. Perhaps it also takes away from building a team concept.

Understood, but who does it necessarily take away from? Still leaves positions for Gallo and Chandler. Its not like Gallo is ready to be forcefed offensively yet. I think winning a few games here could help some of the young guys out and it also makes us a more attractive place to be. If Nate is here he probably has a very similar effect on everyone around him anyway (in terms of taking away shots). I still see a place for Toney Douglas as a 3rd or 4th guard in this scenario.

the other big question is: Does AI start or come off bench. As a starter, it leaves the Knicks VERY weak defensively and it's a SUPER small backcourt. And we all know what AI thinks about coming off bench.

Exactly. Let's forget about that pick. It's just more focus on the knucklehead who put us in this position. We should concentrate on developing our long term talent (Gallo, The Mayor, Hill, Douglas) and sign a point guard who can grow with the unit. Get them all max minutes, build team cohesion, build trust, and move on. An AI rental for a year will be entertaiing, especially if he returns to form (I am no hater, I recognize he is one of the best scorers EVER) but it's time to get serious about the plan.

I am not opposed to AI for a one year rental, but I think it HAS to be a last resort. I wouldn't pull the trigger on that deal until Sessions is gone and Rubio returns to being a pipe dream.

If anyone doubted that's really him, just look at the bolded text. That's pretty much his catchphrase.

His account is verified by twitter so it's him. Out of the teams mentioned....I think he goes to the Bobcats.

+1. That's the best fit for him and he might actually get people to go to Cats games.

MSG was sold out almost every game last season. 33 wins. 22 or whatever the year before.

sold out on ticket discounts for walk up buyers is one thing, sold out with more season ticket holders is another.

true. don't think adding AI for 1 year is gonna effect season ticket holders. Maybe a small bump. Next summer will be key.

I wonder how the tv ratings were? I missed many games, and the ones I did watch didn't hold my interest so I didn't even watch the whole game.

So you guys think that with AI, there will NOT be an upgrade in interest of Knicks games ?? I think we get a few more TV games that will NOT be blacked out.
