There are 30 teams in the NBA right? the whole league is repressing Gerald Green. I think the league is afraid Gerald could emerge as a force in the league and don't want him to be in the limelight. He's not a bum like other guys in the past. Oh well we'll never know.

Hmm...whenever I have seen Green play, his talent jumps off the screen. Dont understand why he isnt getting run either. Gettin' your Playa on, Eny...I approve. Keep questioning.

i'd take a chance on Green anyday... what do we have to lose? give Larry Hughes run in the 1st half of the season so u can trade his expiring for a future asset, then give a kid like Green a run to see if he can stick w/this team for the long haul i say.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Yea it is just weird Green hasn't given another chance with his athletic gifts and all. Maybe he is a Harold Miner type.

Green has been on 4 teams and is still on the Mavs - how has he not been given a chance?

Listen, I'm all for giving Green a shot, he's athletically gifted, but to say he's being blackballed from the league is going way to far I think.

I love GG especially on 2k9 his skillz are bananas, but that's a video game and this is real life. The notion seems to be that if you can't shine in MDA'a system then you really do suck.

I really don't see any harm in giving green a try considering how weak we are at the 2g and the player we have been looking at this summer. Althoug a lot of what I see in green is rucker park type skills which normally doesn't translate into nba skills with the exception of "skip to my lou" (rafeal alston) this maybe be greens biggest hurdle.

Again, it's so different being a fan than it is being a coach. As a fan you see the athletic gifts. You see the solid jumpshot and you see loads of potential. When that guy can't get any run you just assume that all the coaches have a personal agenda against the player. What the fans don't see are the film sessions when coaches are pulling their hair out because the player does nothing that is being asked. They aren't in the film sessions when the other coach is designing an offense around the fact that "said player" will not be in position on defense, or will break down the offense if you do that. As fans we only see the skills, but there is a lot more than that.

Coaches do not hold grudges against players for no reason. That is a myth. If you aren't being picked 99% of the time you are doing something that makes coaches think they can't win with you for whatever reason.

I just hope that people will like me

Totally agree with you Bip. Coaches want to win in this league and they will take ANYONE that gives them a better shot at winning. Green must be doing something to get coaches to think otherwise.

How come we have two pretty similar Darko threads and the only Rubio one was closed? Where is the Rubio love we had at draft night? Where is the love for stiff legged Rubio? Now its given to stiff legged Darko? Has obm convinced you all of his man crush, or make it MAN LOVE, that we allow this injustice to happen?

lol. well, Darko is on our roster and fills a need (shot blocking) that we've lacked for 10+ years.

Rubio is dancing around in Spain playing games with the Wolves. We're all saturated with Rubio, but not many people realize the untapped gold mine we have in Darko.

i closed down the Rubio thread after we found out that the author was a 17-year-old with "sources". Seems a bit too flimsy for me.

Yeah, but in terms of potential for keeping us entertained and intrigued, Rubio is a star, while Darko is... Farm fodder. We need entertainment to deal with this Walsh-like, I mean, boring offseason.

Eh, I see what you mean...but Darko is a star in the making!

Put it this way: if Darko was drafted this year, coming out as a 24 year old rookie from overseas who can block shots and has mad skillz, then we would all be super hyped about him.

To me, there is no reason why his NBA experience has to go against him; he was a victim!

edit:

but then, I was reminded of a quote, "circumstances don't make the man, they reveal him to himself"-- so maybe he will be a failure. I don't know.
