Walsh should have done the dump when he had the chance... Being too patient. As we know, walsh does not like just dumping, he prefers to get someone back who is an asset, not just an expiring to gut the team.

The offer of $38 million over 4 years is very similar to the offer I deemed "fair" in that finances thread I did awhile ago so I'm obviously in favor of it.

However, I doubt this offer was really put on the table. Every source that claims to have inside information says that Walsh and Lee are far apart in negotiations. If this deal was true, it would be more of a compromise if anything.

I really hope Donnie does put something like this on the table though.
"This is a very cautious situation that we're in. You have to be conservative in terms of using your assets and using them wisely. We're building for the future." - Zeke (I guess not protecting a first round pick is being conservative)

here is the thing, millions of dollars is what we are talking ABOUT NOT SOME regular salaries. and yes it makes sence and yes ****ing D Lee should just accept it and take it(up the butt) or whatever but seriously 8 mil per is reasonable for him , i know that is the market, but if it was different it woulda been 10 per but just accept it man, be a ****ing man. If you are gonna be such a lamer forget you , thats not what winning teams are all about, go sign with the grizzlies or something. And yes i am "allanfan'died" atm but seriously just sign the deal , don't be such a goldgigger.++

SO if one of these writers said they had a threesome with Jessica Alba and Gary Coleman since they put it in the paper it is true? The guy at hoopsworld is smoking donkey dung and has no idea what the Knicks have offered and what Lee has asked for.

4 yrs 38 mil....

2009: 8mil
2010: 9mil
2011: 10mil
2012: 11mil

IF (big if) this is indeed an offer on the table for David, i'd say Walsh is being very fair. 9.5 per season.

I don't really believe it though. He would be basically 20% of our cap in the summer of 2Max FAs.

20% + 30% + 30% = 80%.

The rest of the team would have to be rookies and minimum vets.

If thius is trhe offer on the tab;le then Walsh is still negotiating against himself. And it would make the second offer for 7 mill irrelevant? Why would anyone take that? If Lee really beleives he can make even more than this he can go wherever he likes.

I dont think there is any way Walsh will take on any salary this year. No way Sessions or Williams will be with the Knicks. My guess is your 2010 team will look like this
PG Douglas
SG Chandler
SF Gallinari
PF Hill
C Bosh

That would be best case unless you get Lebron. That team would win you about 32 games. But dont fret the next year Chris Paul is coming and Howard will sign for a MLE to be in New York.

There is no way that Walsh doesn't add a player... at the very least a one year contract
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Walsh called me. He told me to come in for a workout. I'm going to ask my agent, Bippity, if I should go ahead and do it.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Are you 35+ with a bad wheel? If so you might already be on the list.

As to this supposed David Lee contract offer. I don't believe it. That is way too much money for his one dimensional services.

Again, Kosmo of rgm paints the picture of what the contract might be:

I guess the deal starts at $9.5 million with a max decrease the first season and max increase the two following seasons :

2009-2010 : $9,500,000
2010-2011 : $8,502,500
2011-2012 : $9,500,000
2012-2013 : $10,497,500
----------------------------------
TOTAL.......$38,000,000

====

We sure better have a way to dump Eddy and Jeffries before we go after contracts like that for David Lee and try to add Sessions. Otherwise kiss 2010 goodbye right now.

There is no problem in this financially, but it will be a broken team.
