Sounds somewhere inbetween a mistake and taking something to speed up the healing of his knee (not a mistake there).

He has a medical staff at his disposal: USE IT.

If this starts a whole procedure on sifting out the roids users in the NBA we're going to see half the league suspended.

I don't see this as a benefit of the doubt suspension. It is possible if that he legally obtained the substance over the counter he may not have been aware of what was inside[of course he should know]

I think a fair and reasonable suspension should be 3 games. It's not like they caught him with a bottle of Deca-durablin sticking out of his pocket. I don't know if this is the avenue the NBA should be walking here--they are making it a bigger story by issuing a bigger suspension

And tell me with baseball and basketball just how the heck does football get away with it? 80+++++% of NFL football players are on something--even the kickers and puters

I don't understand why marijuana is still illegal - I mean almost every single baby boomer smoked it and now that they are in control they have turned into the biggest hypocrites ever. This country needs to legalize it ASAP.

The Collective Bargaining Agreement calls for a first positive test for performance enhancing drugs (SPEDS or "Steroids or Performance Enhancing Drugs" in NBA parlance) to be accompanied by a ten-game suspension and treatment in the league's SPED program. (A second failed test means a 25-game suspension, a third a year suspension, and a fourth banishment from the league.)

I have actually thought he was on something for a while, the guy is huge. Lebron too - look at their shoulders, you know how hard it would be to get that big just by eating and working out? Genetics are one thing but these guys are above and beyond what is humanly possible.

It could be amazing genetics but I would not be surprised if it is more than that.

How can you 'not know' what you're taking into your body? At that income level, at that performance level, it's your LIFE to know what is going in your body because you MAKE YOUR LIVING playing a game with your body. Sloppy and inexcusable.

On a different note-- I kind of am hoping for a massive drug scandal to hit the NBA because it would give me a definitive reason to stop following.

Lewis picked the wrong sport. DHEA is not banned by MLB.

MLB is the only major sport that allows DHEA.
