this year is another throw away just to set ourselves up for 2010... anyone who deludes themselves into thinking playoffs is setting themselves up for disappointment just like last year.
naw, this isnt a throwaway year. Walsh is clearly trying to strike an equilibrium of making the playoffs while not sacrificing '10.
Last year was a throwaway year to rid ourselves of dead weight and assess what we have. We should at least compete for a spot this year.
Walsh was trying to compete for a spot last year too... we coulda made a run at the playoffs but decided to dump salary, but still the pieces Walsh went after were experienced veterans who could produce for us... it didn't happen, we're obviously way short on talent to make any kinda realistic run at any playoffs right now... if we lose Lee & Nate this offseason it'll be that much harder even... to think we have any serious shot at contention this year is just setting urself up for the same as u got last year IMO unless some major deal or aquisition is made to upgrade the roster before the season begins.

Well..it all depends what we have going into training camp, so we cant get too carried away.
If Gallo is everything he has been sold as being and if Hill can produce like a # 8 pick should, then we should have a realistic shot at the playoffs. Especially if we upgrade at PG and bring back Lee and Nate or trade them for something reasonable.
With Chandler improving and the like, I could see us grabbing between 35-42 wins, which would put is in the hunt.
