Good job guys. I was also pissed when Ewing got injured and was out for the season. That was the year that Ewing playing like the best center in the league. From Shaq to Hakeem no one was stopping Ewing.

Was that the time that ANDREW FUCKING LANG injured his wrist?

I punched a hole in my wall...or tried to...I hit square on a stud. Yeah, probably not in as much pain as Patrick, but, my hand hurt pretty bad for a week. My middle-finger knuckle on my right hand - right where it connects to your hand if you will - is still a slightly larger size than it ought to be. Then didn't Dudley follow up by breaking his foot not too far in the future? I slammed my TV controller on the ground. Not really over Dudley but just the injuries mounting. Then I think Buck Williams had the bum finger that he tore.

Then we face the Spurs who did what...didn't they start Wil Perdue at SF to screw with us? Wasn't this even the year LJ tore up his knee in the ECF?

Man...we were cursed as HELL that year and STILL made it to the Finals. I think all of that happened that season. I could be wrong. Memory isn't what it used to be. Sometimes that's a good thing LOL

2004 MLB ALCS - Red Sox come back from 0-3 to beat us in 7 at Yankee Stadium... the Curse is broken
2002 NFL Divisional Playoffs - Trey Junkin snap game
2001 MLB WS - Luis Gonzalez bloop beats Mo in game 7... end of a dynastic run
1995 MLB ALDS - Griffey Jr. scores game 5 & series winning run, the last & only postseason series Donnie Baseball ever played in
1994 NBA Finals - my favorite player Starks shoots us out of a series win... ugh
1981 MLB WS - Yanks lose to the Dodgers, marks the end of the late 70's dynasty

I still have to say you MUST blame the coach for that flameout by Starks. Just got to! There were ready and able options riding the pine that night. And not for nothing we're not there without Starks in the first place. I HATED watching it but I remember not screaming at the TV or at my friends about Starks - but - I was screaming about RILEY and saying things like PUT IT BLACKMAN!!!.

So, yeah, painful moment - but I don't blame Starks. What's a shooter supposed to do? Keep shooting and hope it falls. He had a lot of good looks, too, they just refused to go in. Happens to everyone.

Yeah.

And then the Knicks turned around and thanked Ewing for all his hard work by signing that clown Lang to the Knicks.

It was also painful for me to see the Knicks not draft Artest. I was arguing with my dad on draft night because he was trying to tell me that Frederick Weis was going to be a stud. My dad at the time was screaming to me telling me,"So you think you know more than the scouts and coaches in the league?" lol My dad and I laugh about that draft all the time now.

another painful sports moment non-big game related:

seeing age & injuries catching up to Lawrence Taylor & him no longer being able to dominate the way he used to & seeing Donnie Baseball's game suffer because of nagging back injuries

.. sad to see ur heroes fade.

When I saw the thread title, ironically, I immediately thought of watching Taylor cause Theismann's leg to EXPLODE on National TV. Then I saw the point of the thread and let that go. That was some serious chit right there though. Watching Taylor bounce up concerned as all holy hell waving on the medical teams... wow, just wow.

I was a Redskin fan at the time too. Yeah, I know, shut up LOL.

1- Knicks- brawl in Miami of 1997 which lead to us giving up a 3-1 series lead and losing. I say to this day that was our year to win it all.

2- Yankees- In no particular order- losing in 1995 to the Mariners. Losing in 2001 to the DBacks. Losing in 2004 to the BoSux after leading 3-0. Actually, come to think of it, that wasn't painful. That made me so numb that it started a long trend of me not particularly caring about baseball.

3- Losing to the Spurs in 1999. Yeah, they won 4-1, but we were in every single game, so that one stung hard.

4- Giants losing to the 49ers after having the lead and giving it up.

5- The entire Isiah era. I seriously thought he was going to be our GM for his entire life for a couple of points.

There's a few other Knick moments, but I'll keep it to these.

That one did sting because no ne counted us in it all and I know I had that "no one believed in us" angle built up in my head... I was at Game 5 and I wanted to leave in the worst way but my dad made me stay. And we watched the ceremonies. Sucked. But I'm glad I endured that

I had suppresed memories of the Junkin snap.

Thanks for reminding me

Cleveland beating NYY in 1997 sucked too.

for some reason the knicks losing to indiana in 1995 really stings. ewing missing that finger roll was haunting. but also the reggie 8pts in 15 seconds and byron scott's daggers that series. ouch.

of course, charles smith's layups and john starks 2-18, too.

I, too, was a jackass who literally threw a party the afternoon, around 1pm?, that I heard that Layden was out and Isiah was in. I recall a friend saying over the phone, "Aw man we dont want THAT guy running things!"

Well, I guess he was right. Oops.

What stung was our entire front court out with injury and then watching us be in every game despite that. What could have been - comes to mind - but all the same that Spurs team was very strong. We never know what having Ewing, LJ, Buck, Dudley (???) all healthy could have meant. We just can't say.

What stung more were arrogant Spurs fans acting like it would have made no difference. I mean, even half the Heat fanbase knew the Knicks got screwed with the 97 suspension and knew the Heat were given every call possible from Game 3 through Game 6 of their Finals win over the Mavs.

Spurs fans? Nah... 100% strong that it would have made no difference if FOUR of our primary front court players would have been healthy. I still remember Spree attacking the basket early in the series, getting WHACKED, and not getting ANY calls - not ONE - and then him giving up on that strategy. Wise on his choice but - that just reeked. I mean, here were the Knicks, down their entire front court, and the Spurs STILL got calls up the wazoo all on their side? Despicable.

But, well, Stern wanted good guys Duncan and Robinson to win the title, and we got burnt.

Yeah, you know what I just realized? This thread SUCKS. I'm going to get on out of here before I make my babbling incoherent tirade over Jordan Hill being at best a backup PF look like childs play. Stupid childs play, but, childs play all the same.

Dammit.....someone delete this thread LOL

but i'll say this about 99 - the finals sucked, but the road to the finals was pure ****ing heaven. the miami series. the indiana series. it was so unexpected, so intoxicating, so great. just as unexpected as the knicks run to the finals in 2010 will be.

For me it's the brawl with Miami and the aftermath of losing when we should have one.

Oh you have no idea how much I hope you are right about 2010. God knows we need that.

That '99 run was pure gold and the way we battled against the Spurs was so admirable. We never gave up and no one gave us a chance, not even the officials. That was Knick basketball at its best. How much I miss those times...

2006: Loosing the World Cup Semifinals vs. Italy in the 117th min. and having to suffer the Final were Zinedine Zidane is getting himself ejected for banging those italian b!tch Materazzi in the Chest (He would have been the greatest of all time after winning the second World Cup for France!) Keywords: Would have!

Was a great World Cup here in Germany, but in the end, it sucked!

BBall moment? Have to go with Knicksfan, cant be that pissed about the '99 Spurs thing, they fighted and were overachieving. No '93 memories, there was no NBA broadcast back then in Germany...
Therefore I will go with: Draftday when we selected Nene and traded him for McDyess. I was so happy to get an young Center for years to come... Trading Camby away... Trading Ewing for Longley and Rice... Pissing of Spree...

No gamemoments as you can see, just the managment letdowns of the last decade.
