it takes a field general on the court.it doesn't necessarily have to be the point guard.teams have used point forwards,they have run offenses through their centers and he doesnt have to be a dominent low post guy.it could be a perimeter guy like we had with jerry lucas.the celtcs used bird as a point forward.they said that robinson and duncan were too soft but they did alright because avery was smart enough to run the offense through them.who ever is the best player,meaning also unselfish and smart enough to get everyone involved will do.nelson loves using the point forward and he has had some success.every team needs someone to orchestrate.when we find our leader[knicks] i think that we'll have a lot of succes.we got talent but it is scattered no one is leading this band.we have got to find someone to run this squad.
