I guess I don't understand the outrage. Hahn has admitted he has a man crush on Gallo and is given his prediction. His prediction isn't anymore wrong than anyone else's on this site. I'm pretty sure many people were walking around going "Olowakandi is going to average 157 and 10 rookie year, book it." While others were saying "Dirk Nowatski? Bust". Who cares? They are just predictions. Why would Hahn's prediction bother anyone?

Nobody has any idea what the guy will be. We've heard great things from those who've seen him in Europe. We've heard raves from D'Antoni and Walsh and Hahn and others that have seen him workout(obviously they are all lying to us, he really can't be good). And then we have our own eyes. Most of us have never seen him play while he was healthy. We have little idea of what we really have. Add on top of that, we don't know if he is even going to be healthy. So in all honesty, all predictions here are a load of crizzap. They are all guesses.

So why the outrage over Hahns?

Because it's a slow day.

Wow you think that Gallo is going to play 82 games and average close to 20 points and give 6 rebounds and 5 assits after not playing 35 minutes in one NBA game ever? Did Dolan hook you up with a nice mid-summer bonus?

I find it ironic that you complain about journalistic integrity on one line but then proceed to mistate his numbers anyway.

What exactly did I miss on---? Is 17 close to 20? I have to be that concise? Yes and he said 6 rebounds and 5 assists--although he has never averaged more than 1 assist on any team he has ever been on.

So was it 17 or 20? Because that's a huge difference, huge enough for me to never trust another quote from you for as long as I live.

No, maybe 20/6/4 is too much, but it is not far off, I think. Or, better put, it is not far from what Gallo can realistically be expected to achieve next season under the correct conditions.

If all else is well, such as his role and his health, Gallo, I feel, is definitely capable of putting up 16/5/4 next season. He is a natural born killer, a leader-- his 90% FT% attests to this; at 19 years of age, an alien in a foreign land, at the biggest stage (if only as an arena) of basketball in the world, Gallo shot 90% free-throws. He has nerves of ice.

what if he gets a tattoo?

Euro stats are impressive, certainly more impressive than anything Ricky Rubio has put up in Europe.

Also, he has averaged 1.7 assists per game there.

Expecting 4 in the NBA, next season, is a reach, but the points and rebounds are not that far. Like I said, 16/5...and 2 dimes would be nice.

If he gets a tattoo, it is ok, because I am pretty certain he will not end up with 20572035802835208 tattoos.

Even Toni Kukoc had a tattoo..

Why not just type 17? Was 20 easier to type?

You did exactly what many journalists do, Fudge numbers, lie a little, move things around a little, exaggerate a tiny bit, overstate, overreact.........

In the end yes 20 is close to 17, but you wrote 20 for a reason. It was dishonest

So journalists fudge, muddle, and nudge numbers and fact around, gradually, but in the end the result is that the agglomorated mass of their tiny mischiefs serves to profuse a grandiose fallacy amongst the Number of men. And so, 17 is hugely different to 20, especially in our context, as 17 and 20 separate, many times, players and all-star players.

I think it is hilarious... he got called out cause he said Hahn is in the pocket of Dolan and that's why he predicted such a good year for Gallo. But, in doing so he inflated the "points" from 17 to 20, presumably to better prove his point, but he followed that up by questioning Hahn's journalistic integrity, despite the fact that Hahn discloses the nature of Cablevision's ownership of both the Knicks and Newsday...

Since he got called out on it, he has failed to own up to his mistake and recognize the irony of his conclusion (i.e. that Hahn has no journalistic integrity) while himself failing to be precise (as opposed to "concise") in his statements.

Not sure why Briggs hates Hahn so much... I like him the most of all the NY beat writers. I like the fact he writes parentheticals to Hoopshype and RealGM not to print his speculation as an actual rumor. I think it is funny and stupidly necessary. How many FrankIce blogs have been turned into RealGm rumors...kind of ridiculous.
You know I gonna spin wit it
