well that is a very positive outlook on both of our picks. I tend to agree with pretty much everything you said. Toney seems like a veteran PG out there at times and with Hill, you can see the potential there, he just has a ways to go, to put it all together, but when he does, we will have a fine player on our hands..
too bad many of the fans on realgme don't have your patience or look at the game the same way... Since hill is not averaging 30/20 in SL, they are calling him a bust.... LOL.. go figure...
I see the Bust comments too....bull****. Clyde hit the nail on the head about Toney's shot and thats confidence. The rest of his game is on point. That jumpshot will fall and I predict he will hit double figure scoring in the next 3 games. People forget he is trying to show he can play point and he is playing a very good point guard right now.
I can't say enough about Jordan Hill bro...everytime he makes a move...the defense could crowd around or he could get blocked or fouled...I just get a massive hard-on. As soon as he calms down and finds the right speed to play he is gonna make us all happy. Right off the bat he has that accountability. He too the blame for the loss. Said the bigs including himself didn't play defense and he will "handle that" in the next game. He takes it personal and he shows the respect for the game I love to see. Fuck the non-sense about him just picking up the game a few years ago...he's not bum ass Thabeet. Jordan Hill is a skilled player. I'm happy the Knicks have him.
TKF do you see Pau Gasol in jordan hill? I see Amare a little minus the explosive jumping. I've see a similiar player but I can't call it right now.
not sure I see gasol in Hill, and maybe not amare as well, not sure who I see at this point... Plus amare is a different type of athlete. Hill can get up and explode for dunks, I saw plenty of that at Arizona.. I felt that hill needed another year at zona, I told his cousin that (who is a homie of mine). He agreed, but with his size and potential, there was no way he was going to slip out of lottery. I think hill's game has to catch up with his body, but he also does some things now, amare wasn't doing until his 3rd and 4th year in the league, and that is hitting the spot up jumper and the turnaround jumper.... When hill gets into the shape he feels he should be in and his timing comes back, we will see a different player...
Why is Hill "not in shape" and why does he seem so awkward to me out there? Why does he seem so much slower and so much more passive than reported? Does he have an injury we don't know about such as a muscle strain that is limiting him but not obvious? I just can't put my finger on it but I do know as of now I'm just not impressed. Not upset and not going to label him a bust but just not impressed. Seems much more raw, awkward, passive, and slower than I expected given what I had read. Was he overly built up to be something he isn't in the press?
So far he's done nothing to wow me...whereas Douglas absolutely has wowed me - where he seems to be playing far beyond what we were to expect of him already.
I wouldn't say he is in shape, but probably not in this up and down running shape... who knows, but if he were averaging 30/20 in SL, I am sure we would be reminded to temper our excitement because it is just SL.. so I am not going to get overly concerned about 2 SL games in which he looked pretty good, just not dominant....
