odom here would be a disaster - he cannot carry a team remotely. LBJ is not coming here for Odom to be his wing man. it's not happening.

i mean, i think that's what kidd and grant hill realized - at this point in their career they KNOW they are supporting members. they look at our roster and realize they'd be asked to lead. you can hate them for not coming here - but respect them for being honest with themselves and about their ability level.

You can't fault these guys for trying to get their money, but in these economic times...even wealthy teams that just won a championship like the Lakers are gonna play hard ball. Odome shoulda just taken the 3 year deal...at 33 years old he could still get a decent contract...

The days of signing guys on the downside of their careers for 5-6 years is done for.

for the record in my opinion Sasha is crap. I had the misfortune of living 4 1/2 years in LA until 2007 and (unfortunately) saw a bunch of him, and the Lakers (a team I hate). Also, I don't want Farmar on the Knicks either.
Odom is very tempting because of his obvious skills, but you need a star to keep him focused. And even then...only sporadic effort.
