Angelina Jolie and Bar Rafaeli meet in the second round? Those are my two top picks and, lets be honest, they are among the top 4-5 picks overall. Unfortunate.

Megan Ewing is in. First one to nominate gets the next FA. |

I say give it to Jennifer Lopez. She's paid her dues.

And I say make Ewing and Lopez square off in that lowest bracket. Lopez vs Halle Berri is a great faceoff!

You saying Halle Berry will get past Paulina Porizkova? |

Credit definitely goes to Bocker for executing the idea. I'm not sure I would have gone with a typical seed-based advantage draw throughout the full set of 64, given the way the seeds were derived and the inconsistency of opinion towards the end of the draft; a more randomized approach toward the lower strata of the draft may have been more appropriate. All in all, however, a reasonable methodology and a superb idea. I'm mainly griping, of course, because my prized draftees have to face-off early. (something that was bound to happen as I had quite a few picks)

Lets also define a consistent way to call these contests. The idea being 1) to have pre-existing criteria rather than an arbitrary call in a race where the candidates shuffle back and forth and 2) to maximize the number of votes in a reasonable ampount of time.
I'd say a 24 hr period where we run 5 polls at a time is reasonable; keeping a reasonable pace without overloading the throughput to the point of tedium. Sh-t in the popcorn to go with sh-t on the court. Its a theme show like Medieval times.

Posted by codeunknown: 4 polls a day makes the most sense untill we get to the semi finals is probably reasonable. Remember, gotta use an even number that is a perfect square. And on that dorky note, back to the Megan Fox/Miranda Kerr poll... |

Posted by VDesai:Posted by codeunknown: Actually, thats not true. That 4 is a perfect square is a coincidence. What you really want is merely that the number of contests is a multiple of your rate; since the number of contests halve per round, ideally you'd want your rate to be a multiple of your number of contests times (1/2)^n where n = the number of rounds, so you can maintain that rate for the most amount of rounds for simplicity's sake. So, 32, 16, 8, 4 are all plausible rates; of those only 4 and 16 are perfect squares. That the number must be even is a function of the 1/2 base term in the exponent. Dorkiness, indeed. Overall, its trivial if we have a remainder anyway, as long is the pace is palatable. An extra day for a remainder, or a day where we add on a few polls is negligible, no?
