it's funny b/c if the knicks trade for boozer, there's a high chance he would be re-signed, yet nobody wants to commit to david lee long term.

I'm probably one of the few that wants David here in the long term. Like most fans, I obviously don't want him at over $10 million a year though. If we can get him back at around $8 million a year, I'd gladly take him back.

Agree. I saw Chris Sheridan on ESPN today and he was saying he thinks the Knicks will wrap up Lee at 7mill per. That would be great.

I think $8 mil is about where most people's cut-off is. I don't think many would have criticized Walsh if Lee had signed that 4 yr 32 mil offer. The board started getting ugly toward Lee when he got greedy and rejected that offer.

4 yr, $28 mil would be outstanding. 5 and 35 would be all right too though.

I'd even offer him a 5 year 35 million dollar deal with a player option after the 3rd year. Would be a little sweetner for David if he continues to improve.

I know. It's just that 4 yrs 28 mil would allow each of us to laugh a little more at King1!

Pistons Turned Down Prince-For-Boozer
Jul 12, 2009 5:02 PM EST

The Pistons reportedly turned down a trade with the Jazz that would have sent Carlos Boozer to Detroit for Tayshaun Prince.

A league source said that while the Pistons like Boozer, they simply couldn't let go of Prince.

Very poor decision I think by Dumars. Couple Boozer with Gordon, Charlie V, Rip and Stuckey and you got a hell of a team...

Agreed. Boozer's a better player than Prince IMO and he fits that team better.

Prince was more important when they had more inside scoring. Now Charlie V. is essentially a replacement for Prince.

to me it was a GREAT decision. Prince is durable and plays both ends of the court. He can guard either SF or SG.

No doubt, Prince is a good player, but as Des just pointed out, they signed Charlie V and he's a SF and essentially will replace Prince at that position. Also they drafted Austin Daye who is as carbon copy of Prince as they come.

They could have added Boozer for the toughness and inside scoring that they have been lacking for the past few years.

PG: Stuckey
SG: Gordon
SF: Rip
PF: Charlie V
C: Boozer

That lineup is killer.

I don't think it is. 4 out of 5 guys in that lineup are too small for the positions you have them listed as. Only stuckey is the exception. And a frontcourt of Boozer and Charlie V sucks defensively.

Who is too small for the position aside from Gordon at SG?

Rip is 6'7
Charlie is 6'11
Boozer is 6'9 but definitely built like a center.

prince, for his contract, is no longer a player of value. don't need him now on that team. should've made the deal.
