the only discussion that Mark Bartelstein has had with POR is this: "Guys, can you call me back? This is the 15th day in a row I am leaving a message with no return phone call. I'm Lee's agent and I'm trying to drudge up some media attention for my guy. Maybe Outlaw and the Spanish dude for Lee. Call me back, thanks."

<Mark Bartelstein> OK, now to tell RealGM that POR and I have had a S&T chat.

LOL! Batlestein seems absolutely lost. The guy is going to end up costing his client because he overvalued him.

man, Outlaw and Blake are average as hell...Im gonna be pissed if that ends up happening.

You don't like Outlaw Seb? I'm not in love with him, he's only 24 but at 6'9, I can see him being a very good 4 in this offense. About Steve Blake, yeah I'm not in love with him either but he's a very good 3pt shooter and he doesnt turn the ball over, sounds alot like the kinda PG that D'antoni is looking for. He's definitely better than Doodoo.

Blake hits the three, runs an offense, is smart and has an expiring. Outlaw is a talented 3/4 with upside and an expiring contract. I don't think there is any truth to a rumor broken by Berman but I would at least consider doing this deal. Outlaw could be as good or better than Lee and Blake fits with D and his system.

Blake and Outlaw for David Lee is a huge steal. If they wanna do that then make the trade....

Btw...I would rather have Bayless though.

I think Blake could be a break out playing for D'Antoni. He makes really good decisions with the ball, his assist/turnover is always one of the best in the league and he's really improved his ability to hit the 3. I also don't think our braintrust likes Bayless.

I would try to get them to throw in Kapponen or Mills or even Pendergraph

Did anyone other than Berman break this story? I think you need to look at the source before you react and I posted that twice already in this thread.

I'd have no problem with the deal if the Knicks intentions are to let him just sign with Portland to begin with... stop gap solutions.

And I saw Portland play Houston in Houston during the first round of the playoffs. Steve Blake is nothing flashy but he looked in command and was effective. Nothing flashy or stellar. Just effective.

Yeah man you're right.

Blake and Outlaw works for me. Blake is trash as well but the dude is better than Duhon I tell you that right there.

Knicks would have a logjam but that's a good thing since Wilson and Gallo both haven't even been cleared to practice yet with 3 months to training camp. Regardless...the guys are tradable pieces and can help move Jared or Curry later on.

Agreed. He's a solid PG.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I agree about Blake and Outlaw is pretty good, too. This would be a fair trade for both teams in terms of talent, but it's not a good fit for Portland. They become weak at the point and at small forward to get depth up front.

From Hahn's blog:
Sign-and-trades? As we've been telling you here for months, the Knicks would need to be blown away. Travis Outlaw and Steve Blake ain't getting it done (and, according to sources I have talked to has never been offered).

Blake and Outlaw both have expiring contracts.

That is a big sticking point IMO in regards to dealing Lee in an S&T. I don't want 9.5M of 2011s and beyond just to say we got something in return unless it was an extremely solid player. Which of course it wouldn't be for the team dealing with us would rather have the solid player than pay David lee.
======

Outlaw - 6'9" 207, 24y/o
12.8ppg/4.1rpg/1apg/0.7bpg/0.6spg/2foulpg/27.7minpg
45.3%FG/37.7%FG3/72%FT

Horrid in the playoffs vs Houston. 6 games, 9ppg, 31%

====

Blake - 6'3" 172, 29y/o
11ppg/2.5rpg/5apg/1spg/1.8foulpg/31.7minpg
42.8%FG/42.7%FG3/84%FT

====

It's an interesting thought but I think I'd want a pick back since they are probably getting the better player overall.

Outlaw is just ok to me...only way I would do a deal like this is if we dump a bad contract. Talent level is just too imbalanced.

This was a Berman rumor and Hahn said it wasn't true. Please lock this thread.
