mck1 giving pharzeone a tough run for his money in the tight race of "who can come up with the most immediate knee-jerk negative reactions to any topic regarding the knicks."

carry on.

That's been clear as day to see for the last 2 weeks.

There is nothing positive to bringing in a 40 yr old who thinks he is still a starter at wil and gallo's position. Why pretend because its pringles and walsh capi-taning the ship the showgirls mentality of nba players will just automatically vanish and everybody will get along like the lollipop guild. Dipping into the mid for a lle vet who plays at a position of strength when there are younger free agents out there that actually fill a need is stupid on top of pointless.

imho, this seems more like d'antoni wanting a guy that can play his style as he is not happy with the roster.

Grant Hill can still play! Is Hill as explosive as he once was? No... but still athletic and is a heady player. I'll cosign this pending free agent agreement.

This would be a MISTAKE! I wouldnt trade Wilson Chandler for Ricky Rubio... NO WAY! Nor should it be considered ever again!

no one is happy with the roster yet, but I think it's Walsh/MDA bringing in a vet presence who can actually play and lead. You need that with a young team. Knicks had JJ, Malik, Q for the last years and they all sucked. GHill can still play and bring weight to what he says.

unfor Hill is not a starter any more, but maybe Chandler is gone for Rubio? who knows.

I'm very hesitant to trade Chandler for Rubio.

Other than that, I agree. Hill might very well be too old, but he was a top player on a lot of winning teams and he's got the character and leadership. He's one of those players that guys can look up to.

There definitely will be a logjam at the foward and 2guard spot, but you know what? That just means everyone is going to have to bust their arses harder, and that's a good thing.

Chandler could learn a lot from Hill in terms of work ethic and ultimately we'd love him to be an all around performer in that mold. I think he's worthwhile for a 1 yr rental. He does a great job of picking his spots and fills the stat sheet.

Grant Hill creates a logjam...

Al Harrington is still on the roster...Al, Gallo, Wilson and Grant Hill??? Unless Hill is gonna be the point guard, lol. He can run the point better than Duhon, lol.

Donnie says in the article that Grant could play shooting guard...lol. Yeah he could but it still doesn't explain the log jam....

I'll co-sign the signing, but I'm curious to see what else is on the horizon.

There are certainly guys on their way out. Eny, I don't think your PG assertion is that far off- that's probably part of the reason he's here.

The minutes will be there no? Hard to tell who the starters or roster will be with Nate and Lee in flux and the potential for sign and trades

pg Duhon / Douglas
sg Hughes
sf Chandler / Gallo
pf Harrington / Hill
c Curry / Darko

I have no idea what we are going to end up with

Especially when Douglas is on the court when Duhon is not, having Hill has a second PG'ish player would help.

Might've been part of the objective in acquiring Hughes. I'd say Hill is a lot better than Hughes

Who says they wont get playing time? Maybe Hill just plays 10-15 minutes a night. Maybe Jordan Hill is the one that doesn't get playing time.

Grant Hill hasn't even been signed yet, and we don't know what the roster will be like if he does. We do know these things though. If Grant Hill is signed, that alone wont keep them from getting playing time. Both Chandler and Gallo can play the 3 and 4. Chandler has played the 2 a little and I'm sure D'Antoni will experiment with Gallo at the 2 as well.

This signing doesn't hurt at all. If we do get Grant Hill, that is.

I agree.

Personally I think Hughes is on his way out and I don't think this hurts either Gallo or Chandler's minutes one bit. Hill and Chandler will start and Gallo will back them both up. Also agree with Eny's point earlier about Hill playing some PG - I can definitely see that.

anyone who thinks Grant Hill doesn't fit in on this roster is on crack. He's going to run the second team offense. Toney Douglas may dribble the ball up, but Grant Hill is going to initiate the roster. And considering all the crap that's available at PG, he's the best option

I'm looking for a breakout season from Larry Hughes. He started to come on late last year in large part because he's playing in a system similar to the Washington system that he looked so great in and made all that money. Probably won't have the same type of season, but 17 points and 2 steals seems reasonable
