two completely different teams, two different set of teammates, two different roles, two different coaches - which makes stats pointless.

all i know is that vince is more clutch than hedo and doesn't go into disappearing acts or could be stopped. lol @ the thought of ariza trying to stop vince.

um. where has this unstoppable monster known as vince carter been playing the past few years? i can't believe i missed all his amazing performances, i must have been watching the wrong league.

Fair enough, but again I think stopping Vince is more of a priority for defenses. Vince is just way more talented.

i agree w/u there... but teams do have to account for Hedo... he played a vital role for the Magic in the postseason along w/Rashard & Dwight... Rashard & Dwight are supplementary players while Vince is more of a feature player, but production wise you're getting pretty good output for the dollars invested if Hedo puts up those kinds of numbers consistently compared to what Vince is making, even tho both are probably overpaid by a lot.

i'd like to see someone dispute this:

Exclusive post-game photo of Hedo Turkoglu

If a pastrami sandwich came to life and played basketball it would be Hedo Turkoglu. I don't know exactly why this is, but there is nothing I am more certain of. I can think of no better way to describe my favorite point-forward since Anthony Mason.

i think hedo was the best player for orlando in the playoffs in a lot of ways. i can't believe they traded hedo for wince carter. i think they'll live to regret it.

good move by portland, though they did overpay a bit.

Sorry fellas I didn't read past this post yet....excuse me if this was discussed....I just couldn't help myself....

Question....if 5 yrs/50 mill is over paying for Hedo Turk...then why the hell should David Lee even sniff 5yrs/50 mill....boggles the mind. David Lee is a threat to rebound...so was Micheal Cage but not nearly as tough.

I think this move makes it impossible for Portland to sign Lee without and sign and trade agreement.

I thought Portland could use a PG moreso than a Point Forward type, but he's an upgrade to their lineup.

I really don't see why they'd be looking to add Lee.

You're an NBA Finals team. You just acquired a big gun. Yet instead of retaining one of your own big guns, which you can do, you let him walk.

Am I the only one that feels this is stupid?

The Lakers are up next. Got the big gun in Artest. Will they retain Odom or let him walk?

I just don't get it...the Knicks in either scenario jump up and down with joy on adding an EXTRA big gun - and then do whatever they can to retain their own FA big guns - so they can, uh, get this, be as deep as possible?

What gives with the Magic...and potentially the Lakers?

Seems stupid to me.

sweet move by portland. if oden gets his feet under him, they could be major party crashers.

Oden....LOL the guy was first off grossly overrated (was supposed to make us forget about Hakeem, Ewing, DRob, Duncan, Shaq, Garnett, Wilt, Malone, Reed, etc etc etc etc...etc...cause he was THAT good) and on top of it he always HAS BEEN AN INJURED MESS and that has not changed.

Man, talk about hype gone out of control to heights never before seen.

As to Portland....I've kinda soured on the whole "wow what a rebuild!" thing as an NBA fan. Tired of hearing about them. Hedo won't get them past the big guns anyway.

Lee was the focus of the other team defense last year and he scored 16 points a game how can you say he cant score. Say he cant play defense and block shots but he can score and rebound.

grossly overrated sure. but don't you think this guy still has the potential to turn into a 17/13/3 player? and couldn't that be the key to a potential championship in portland?

When he can prove he can stay on the court, can prove he can move his feet better than a 50 year old with gout, and prove he can score with high efficiency near the rim like a 7 footer should - then maybe. I'd say more 15/9/2 though until, yes you guessed it, PROVEN otherwise.

Hedo isn't Vince obviously, but he still is a very good role player with a top-notch jumpshot that keeps defenses honest.

Portland has a filthy rich owner that is willing to spend money and they weren't going to be under the cap for long so they are using that money to collect the most talent that they can get. At the end of the day, they got better and you can't fault them for that. If they bring in Andre Miller too, then they will even more of a force to reckon with.

ANDRE MILLER. Forgot about him.

In the midst of all of this Kidd and Nash talk wouldn't Miller be a better target for us if he were to be had for the MLE and we're so set on actually using it again?

Problem is we can't get Miller for the MLE.

The only way to get him is to do a sign and trade and that isn't realistic since Philly is in the same division as us and would want extra for him. Portland has the best shot at him because they are willing to give him the money and they are willing to give Philly the assets needed to make a deal (plus, they have a lot more assets than we do).

I'd suggest Duhon and Chandler for Miller at what 7M starting. Potentially worth it I think until I look and see that he is 33 years old. Wow, that happened quick. So I guess forget that idea. 33....I had no idea. I'm losing touch LOL

Haha, yeah that's the problem with Andre.

We have the assets to make a deal with Philly but the problem is the price would be too high. Portland will probably have to give up something valuable too but they are in a better position than we are to do that. Plus, they have wanted a good veteran PG for awhile and are more likely to use the necessary assets to make that deal happen.
