I think the leeway is the traded player exception we got when we dealt Malik to OKC for Wilcox.

On the one hand, Kidd is getting too old in this league that's more and more a quick pg's playground.

On the other hand, if the Knicks really have faith in Toney Douglas or Chris Duhon to be our future pg starter for yrs and yrs to come, there's no other pg out there who I'd want them to show the ropes.

If we wind up with Jason Kidd... (Assuming that he is seriously considering leaving almost 11 million on the table from Dallas) Could this supposed "leeway" result from a trade to the rebuilding Houston Rockets offering some combination of Eddy Curry (insurance for Yao Ming) and the expiring contracts of Cuttino Mobley or Larry Hughes? Maybe Jared Jeffries and Larry Hughes?

This unannounced player move could prove to be beneficial in making NYK seem "more attractive" for 2010 Free Agents.

I'm very curious to see what move is actually made! Getting T-Mac on the cheap wouldn't be a bad move, even if he does play 3/4ths of the NBA season

Walsh is a clown. So now we're at the point of "I got a secret" quotes when the media begins to turn on him a little and question his moves as they did recently? Good grief. What's the point of saying anything to the media if you are confident in your plan.

maybe he's got a Fishlips for Mike James trade in the works? that would give Walsh the leeway he's talking about... i don't see us getting James & Haywood for Hughes now that we have Darko & the Wiz just traded away Etan, & any deals involving Mobley or trade exceptions doesn't get us any leeway either unless Fishlips or Curry are being dumped along w/them.
