Looks like Rubio is going back to spain for two years. He has absolutely no interest in playing for the Wolves.

I think both sides have been nothing but doing posturing and this is latest "chess move". Sort of a subtle language. Look for action, if any (which I think is likely to happen) as the S&T period begins in a week or so. Might take three teams as well, just hope we are the one getting Rubio. (Though in a way I almost prefer S. Curry in the backcourt with Lebron...)

Kahn is about to be hosed by Rubio, he's going to stay with his european team for 2 more years. Minnesota ain't getting no break. At least they have Flynn.

Rubio called Kahn's bluff. It is time for Walsh to make a low offer and then wait.

I'm not a fan of low balling. DW should make a fair offer.

Sign and Trade Nate Robinson (will be a fan favorite and bring in $$$)

for Rubio.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

what Rubio is doing will just hurt future Euro hype who want no more than just to play here chances at getting drafted high.

the **** sucker knew his buy out number and the draft order since may and had the opportunity to pull out if he didn't want to play for any of the markets in the top 5.

**** him.

I believe the real snag in negotiations between Rubio and Minny are due to the current plight of Rubio's agent:

Kahn can't win this battle. If Rubio doesn't get his trade to a big market then he will just stay in Europe and sign a new contract there for millions. What Rubio is doing is really ****ty and I don't agree with it at all, but he has Kahn by the balls and if anyone is going to benefit from this it might as well be us.

you mean you don't advocate people try to do what's best for their own career? We should just all roll over and take the option that best for our employers? I don't know why I constantly look to ask for a raise anyway.

If Rubio is doing somthing wrong I'd sure like to know.

Nobody HAD to draft him! He has choices and I think was pretty open without being rude that he had to play in certain markets to make it worth it. To do this without being offending is hard.

The 4 teams that passed him decided they did not qualify for what he wants and did not want the drama. Minny is trying to extract value.

All we know is this kid has leverage and is trying to use it. He as not said a negative thing about any franchise or the community.

Think about why we are trying to get kidd here? Duhan gets traded and Kidd is the teacher to split minutes with Ruby.

Im not saying this happens, but I am hopeful.

What Fran Vasquez did to Orlando was a lousy thing. He was free to come and resigned a new contract. Ruby wants to play in the NBA. He needs a big market team, NY needs a point for the future and its perfect match in many ways.

Kahn knows this and will try to get a good deal with US.

For all we know its all prearranged and we have to wait until we can sign and trade.

Problem is the many variables that can happen in the next week.

And the Rookie Kahn does not do this without his meddlesome owner who is always deeply involved.

seriously i don't get people who get upset by what guys like Steve Francis, Rubio, Eli, Yi Jianlian, etc. try to do by dictating where they'd like to play... these guys are just trying to create the best situation for themselves & their families... this is their livelihoods we're talking about here... these aren't brainless commodities or soldiers that should just take their marching orders & follow them w/o any say in the matter... if y'all don't like working a job or don't like living in a particular city, u have the option to leave & find something better suited for u... why aren't young NBA prospects afforded the same consideration by some of you? if they have other options, they should be allowed to pursue them same as any of us are without being badmouthed by fans who have no interest in their lives otherwise.

if Rubio had led Kahn to believe that he'd like playing in MIN & encouraged them to take him, & then backed out, then i could see the outrage, but that didn't happen here... MIN well knew the risks & they obviously were willing to accept them when they took Rubio when they did... now they better trade him or else risk wasting that lottery pick, which Kahn would be an absolute moron if he allowed to get to that point... Rubio is not the one at fault here.

Rubio knows what the NBA draft is and how it works. I have no problem with him going back to Europe and playing, because that is like you said a risk Kahn took and he must accept that. But I do have a problem with players getting drafted by a team and then trying to force a trade before he even sees the organisation. He probably hasn't even been to the city, or met with anyone other than Kahn. He has the right to say I don't like my current place of emplopyment, but he should be professional about it and at least turn up and give it a go (like Yi). I believe that is the best way to get a trade out of there as well (like Yi).
