Mikki played very well for the Nets but up to that point he and his career were not noteworthy and often joked about. I disagree about Hill and Mikki being that similar. I think Hill has alot more to offer and I think he there is alot more power to his game.

I heard this for an entire year with Frye and everyone used to laugh anytime a few of us said that David Lee was the much better player.

I hope I'm wrong. They played well in the tourney, but with him and chase they shouldn't have ever been in danger of missing the tourny especially in that conference.

Hill and Moore are totally different body types. Hill has broad shoulders and it looks like his frame will support more weight. Hill has power to his game he looks to flush everything on the opponents. His foot work is miles ahead of Moore. If you watch Hill closely you can see that his footwork is very good for a big man. With time its only going to get better. Would like the Knicks to get a bigman coach in here. Herb is washed up and doesn't have the goods to teach big man moves. The Knicks need to bring in a serious name that the players like Curry, Darko and Hill will take seriously. I'm gonna say the Knicks need to call Hakeem and ask him to be a big man coach. I wonder if he would do it.

Hill is a much more physical player down low & has a developing low post game, neither of which describes the type of player that Mikki Moore is... MM's a bone skinny off the ball player who gets his points on knocking down wide open mid range J's & tip ins off PG penetration... he's a minor role player... he's not a guy you can dump the ball down to in the post & be expected to get off his own shot on his man like Jordan Hill can... aside from the dreads & the fact they both can dunk & run the floor, they're really nothing alike.

I wanted Jennings because worse case he puts up stats and doesn't help the team and we trade him for a lottery pick next year.

Oh well.

C'mon

MS - Miki Moore?

Based on what detailed skill-set comparison that you are willing to stand behind?

I think people see similar skills in their hair.

1st of all I think Hill is already more physical than Mikki is right now and Hill is gonna get stronger as he matures. I don't think Moore has the strength to be a force in the post for starters minutes. I think Hill will be able to do that eventually.

Hills stats: Ht. 6'10.25" wgt. 232 wingspan 7'1.5" s. reach 9'0" B Fat 6.0 Max Vert 35.0 Max vert Reach 11'11" Bench 185 11x Speed 3.30

The guy seems like a stud athlete to me. He surely needs to hit the weight room to gain more strength, but a lot of rooks have that problem. He plays strong, which is what I want to see. I just see him being able to play with more force than Mikki, he's bot a better handle and quickness to get around defenders and I think he's more agile and explosive overall.

I'm not crazy about the Hill pick. I think DeRozan will be a better player. But to condemn a guy as a bad pick based on one game is absurd. My guess is that Hill will be an ok player - nothing special, but not a bust either.

i'd have to agree with this sentiment. It's been proven that MDA can take a guy with decent skills and pump up his production. So to me a guy with better than merely decent skills will get even further under MDA. Hill should be able to excel in this system with his existing skill level and if he gets any better which I would assume he should, then I think he'll be a very good player for this team.

As was just stated, Lee doesn't have All Star Skills, but he put up near All Star stats. He just doesn't have the ability to get his own and Hill does, so right there he's got a head start on Lee. Hill can play a pick and pop/roll game cuz he's actually got a jumper. Hill can get the ball in the post cuz he actually has a little bit of a post game already. All he needs is more work and to get stronger and he should be able to have an impact for this team like Lee. Oh and he can block shots!!! How about that.

I have no idea what Hill will be. He could be a bust, he could be a big time player. All I know is that he was considered a top 3 pick all year long and ended up in the Top 10. He has as much potential to be a good player as any of these top 10 picks(besides Griffin) who suddenly have all become superstars to everyone. It's amazing how the months leading up to the draft all we heard was about how weak the draft was. There were no known commodities. Suddenly the draft is over and our guy is a bumb and we missed out on all these "known commodities".

None, of this matters. Hill still has to play. He shows enough skills to possibly help us big time and I hope that we are able to develop him. He also comes with some warning signs as well(just like all the draftees). 18-14 does not give me good feelings. As a coaching staff we will need to make sure we develop the kid and provide him with some true leaders to make sure he doesn't end up in the abyss.
