Hill an upgrade regardless??? 16pts 12rbs leading the league in double doubles...

Easy player to replace...
I have been one of the biggest advocates of resigning Lee for that reason. Hill is such an upgrade its not even funny. Hill has physical tools to work with Lee simply doesnt. Hill is much longer and will be able to defend and block shots. Hill has only played BB like 6 or 7 years, and if you look at his CBB development he's grown every year exponentially.

He's not the passer Lee is but thats about it.

Regardless of what happens with Lee or Nate this address easily our two biggest needs:
post defense and size
someone that can defend on the ball AND shoot

If I was a moderator I would lock this thread and ban any gloom and doomer...the bad energy is what is killing the franchise...the draft improved the team. if you don't see that, then you need to stop masterbating...you are going blind!!!

bad energy is killing the franchise? bad management killed the franchise almost ten years ago. donnie is trying to bring it back and he's being conservative and patient which is probably good. but you can't blame any fan for being frustrated that we keep losing players that would be perfect for this team and this city because of bad luck and not being aggressive enough. i'll stop complaining, but i just don't think you can be happy with being so close to grabbing a curry or a rubio and settling for a kid who flunked out of high school.

you can be frustrated...i'm pissed at golden state and minnesota for not drafting for the needs of their teams...

10 years is a long time...but tomorrow is a new day...im not bitching about layden, and isiah anymore...our present situation is magnificent. Who cares about david lee and nate really? Curry wasn't meant to be and Rubio was never in our reach....Minnesota may have ruined his nba career before it got started.

anyway...right now the knicks got a decent big man that could come right in and contribute and a shot blocker...his name is darko but he is a true shot blocker none the less....toney douglas is gonna be good for us....Cap is beautiful...

absolutely nothing to complain about!

Hill 6'10.25, wingspan 7'1.5, standing reach 9'0 max vert 35
last year in CBB 18pts, 53% FGs, 11 rebs, 1.7 blocks

Lee 6'9, wingspan 7'0, standing reach 8'10, max vert 32.5
last year in CBB 13pts, 52% FGs, 9 rebs, 0.8 blocks

stats are stats and overrated but Hill is bigger, longer and more physical. Its hard to tell where his ceiling is because he hasnt been playing that long.

i've said this many times but to me Jordan Hill is David Lee with defense, shotblocking & a midrange J... basically Antonio Davis on roids... he's gonna make all u guys forget about losing D Lee if he ends up on another team pretty quickly.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

NY is in a better position financially and has tradeable assets in Lee and N8. If they do not trade them, they get them back at a discount, and have them to trade in February. Positive both ways.

I still think Nash will end up here. Phoenix is blowing it up, why would Nash want to be there without Stoudamire and Shaq? Ny can offer them a modestly resigned N8 and Jefferies, for Nash this year.

Nash/Duhon/Douglas
Hughes/Chandler/Douglas
Chandler/Gallo
Harrington/Hill
Curry/Mlcic/Sene

This is still with Lee and the ability to get something for him and a Packaged Hughes...say a real SG?

eddy curry is taller than lee and can probably jump higher than him. who's the better player? darko is taller than lee. who's the better player? lee has something that doesn't show up on a tale of the tape.

You'd be banning everyone besides yourself and nixluva.

Admit it!

Outside of the "FIRE WALSH FIRE MIKE 2010 IS A JOKE NO ONE WILL COME HERE WHY DIDNT WE KEEP CRAWFUL AND ZACHASS THEY WERE AWESOME CHANDLER WILL BE A SUPERSTAR ISIAH WAS KING WALSH SUCKS AND I DID YOUR MOM LAST NIGHT!!!1111oneoneonetwothree" posts..... I've got no problem with anyone's opinions positive or negative.

You wouldn't have a forum of discussion otherwise. It'd just be you and nixluva saying "Damn, Donnie scored with Darko. 20/10/5 what do you think Nix?" Nix: "You bet! Knicks 2009-2010 champs!"

This is so ridiculous. First of all, the Knicks did improve themselves with the two picks, which were solid ones. They may seem like a wash if you think they were made only to let Lee and Nate go, but that would be as shortsighted as most of you are proving to be with your posts.

This isn't Layden or Isiah managing for the Knicks, this is Donnie Walsh, a great basketball mind that knows what he is doing and has proved it so far. Would he let Lee and Nate go for nothing? Of course not, he isn't an idiot. He'll look to get a sign and trade done in that case and GMs dealing with him will accept it because what many seem to be still missing here is that Donnie isn't a laughingstock in the NBA, but a very respected executive.

Would the trades we've already done have happened if it was another guy? They were even impossible in your minds, as no sane GM would've acquired the players we gave up for expiring contracts. But it happened and it will keep happening until the Knicks get where they want to go.

But why showing confidence and hope on a management that has proved enough times already that they have a plan and are going to work hard to get it done? Why, if they have just made great deals thought impossible already? Its always better to predict the end is coming, since its easier to be negative.

Toney Douglas 11 assists and zero turnovers does something for me.

It shows he can lead.

Fish posted about a dozen important stats and you're obsessing over one (height) while ignoring all the others. When Darko or Eddy has Lee beat in every one of the stats Fish listed (like Hill does), then we can have a reasonable comparison.

This draft sent a message to Chris Duhon that the position is not his by default

This draft made the 4-5 frontcourt more competitive

This draft made Nate Robinson expendable

This draft added bounce, defense and tenacity

This draft made the Knicks taller at guard

This draft made David Lee's agent sweat just a bit more, no matter how many teams he claims have inquired about his client
