I'll be very happy if Nate is gone... it would only be sweeter to get something for him in return.

I don't see how its a failure if we don't over pay for Lee and Nate...Lee is not gonna hurt us if he leaves. He was the softest double double I ever saw. A rebounder that shys from contact and played the jazz hands defense. Good riddance.

Nate on the other hand is a dynamic scorer. He's too out of control. He will do the most damage against us because he is an awesome scorer and incredible with his speed and heart. Wish the Dude wasn't so out of control and more humble...cuz he should naturally be the Knicks point guard...only thing stopping this is his attitude/personality.

I like both but they were effectively replaced with this draft. I think they're both goners. Walsh has said all along regarding Lee and Nate (Lee especially): "We'll have to see what the price is gonna be. Some players are good at one price, not so good at another." I agree with that wholeheartedly. Walsh had also said when he took over that his plan was to put the Knicks in position to go out and get TWO impact FAs in 2010, not just one. I think his plan now is to continue to cut costs by unloading Lee and Nate on teams for any combination of expirings, young cost-effective players and/or future picks. If that's the plan, I endorse it. Looks like a full-blown rebuild going on right now. I like it. Long time coming..

Thats our story in a nutshell...a very good one at that...we'll be back in no time possible this season.

I like the Toney Douglas pick b/c he's a legitimate 2 way sixth man. He can score the lights out when he's hot and can legitimately guard opposing 1's.
what do you think about Hill?

That's a great value pick by the Knicks at 8. He was a top 4 talent in this draft. Explosive athleticism along the frontline and he really hits the boards. If he puts on more weight/muscle he can play an Amare kind of role. His floor is something like Chris Wilcox is. His athleticism will allow him to score around the basket and rebound well on the NBA level. Definite perrennial 10 RPG potential.

I agree. This guy's a good player. I laugh when I hear Channing Frye or Mikki Moore. Frye? Why, because they went to the same school? Mikki Moore? Why, because they have the same hairdo? Come on people - This guy's a worthy replacement for David Lee with an even higher ceiling IMO. He can muscle inside and grab points that way, post up with turn-around jumpers and also step out to 15+ with a real good-looking mid-range shot. People talk about this guy like we got some kind of project - I don't see that at all. He's a lot further along than people realize. Good athlete, can run the floor like a deer and also rebound very well. Not a top-tier shot-blocker but a lot better in this department than what Lee offered. He brings a true, legit PF's game to the table. We did pretty well with this pick.

i think that was pretty much obvious ever since Donnie went all in on the 2010 plan... neither of those guys fit into that plan... he better make sure he gets back some value for them now tho... he needs to get expirings & future picks for those guys at the very least.

as has been noted many many times, he shoulda unloaded those 2 at the deadline.

speaking as the person responsible for noting this most of those times, i couldn't agree more.

im hoping there is some s&t coming in the next week... soooooper moneee if curry somehow goes 2

so am i... we need to get expirings & picks in 2010 for those guys at the very least... if Donnie lets them walk w/o getting back any compensation it's a huge failure on his part.

If we get Rubio with a S&T Lee or Nate, are you going to be ok that Walsh didn't dump them at the deadline?

Walsh is right - 2 impact FA is what it will take to turn this thing around. It looks like Lee and Nate are definitely gone for future picks and young talent and that is a good thing. They are role players, and we have a roster full of those. Keeping the cap room to sign some big FA's will pay off and is the right plan for the franchise.

obviously i'd be more than OK w/that... all i want is for the Knicks not to lose these guys for no good asset in return... i could care less about the I Told You So privileges.

I think Nate is gone and Douglas replaces him in the rotation. I think Lee will stick. Last season, he was the best player on this team. Hill is pretty good, but not as good as Lee.
