That makes sense, its to much hype about curry coming to the knicks just like all the hype about gallo coming to the knicks in last years draft.

I would pay money to see the tape of Curry going against Holiday. If Curry doesn't get the ball sent back the other way several times then I'll change my mind about who should be drafted where.

I'm holding you to that!

I didn't see Curry play at all this year but weren't his opponents sending 2-3 defenders at him at all time?

Check out this Holiday vs Derozan video - to me, the debate will come down to these two internally. Will we have a chance to draft either? That's a good question.

I wonder which tells us more: mediocre freshman season out of position in the Pac-10 or great junior season out of position in the Southern Conference?

Guys, frankly I think this argument is a waste of time. Curry is not going to fall to 8, IMO.

Then there is going to be plenty of thumbsucking. Neither will be on the board.

It seems like they are pretty interested in Holliday too...

People, there are only seven draft spots ahead of us.

Griffo, Rubio, Thabeet and Harden are four of those. That leaves three wild-cards. If Curry is one of them, then better players will drop to the number eight slot.

There are more than enough players that we should be happy to get at eight no matter what.

Derozan, Evans, Holiday, and Hill round out the top tier players.

So, if Curry goes ahead of us, we'll have two players out of Derozan, Evans, Holiday and Hill to choose from.

That's not bad is it?

I think #8 is actually a good spot to be sitting in terms of value.

I feel like I'm in the minority here, but I wouldn't be happy with a Holiday selection. Seems like there is almost always a UCLA guard that gets taken because of potential and almost always performs like crap, Westbrook being the note-worthy exception (and I wanted him because of his defensive prowess). Well, holiday doesn't remind me of Westbrook at all except for him being a tweener... but here Holiday is a ball-dominant tweener. Ew.

Maybe I'm wrong about Holiday and Curry, but I think Curry has more potential than a lot of people give him credit for and actually has some noteworthy lines in his bio...

The big diff between Holliday and Curry is that Curry has actually had a chance to show something! What the hell has Holliday ever done? In comparison they're night and day. Curry put Davidson on the map and was pretty much the only one on his team of note. He's also got the pedigree and BB IQ, which we still don't know if Holliday has. With Holliday it's all potential. I'm not hating on him, just stating facts. In the draft you sometimes have to be able to project talent, but Curry is a more known quantity.

How can you say that Holiday is a tweener and not acknowledge that Curry would also be a tweener?

It's my understanding that Holiday is a pure PG who was asked to play off the ball because Collison (starting PG for UCLA) unexpectedly decided to come back for another year.

I also thought that Westbrook's D and Holiday's D were of the same caliber, but I could be wrong.

Holiday is a big dude and will play D with anybody in this draft. He's a high upside guy. If you want to play it safe and go with a Sweetney, Frye type of pick, fine. Take Curry. If you want a boom or bust type of guy, then you're with me and you want Holiday/Derozan/Evans. Except that, with their size, I'm not sure to what extent they can actually bust.

FYI, Maynor went for 21, 7 assists and 6 boards in this game, benefited by going 10-13 from the line . Holiday went for 13, 6 dimes and 1 board. UCLA won by 1 point.

Well, me neglecting to mention Curry's lack of development was a classic oversight on my part... I consider Curry a fledgling point though, not a tweener. He played PG last season and needs to evolve and develop, but has made the commitment to the position and shown significant progress after a year at the position

That is probably why Holiday was a point, I'm not too sure to be honest. So maybe he is a legitimate point prospect and maybe that's why he completely underwhelmed this past season. I'm skeptical though because when I saw him he only made an impact with the ball in his hands.

As for the defense thing, no. They're not in the same class. Westbrook was on par with Corey Brewer with his defensive impact of the game, largely because of Westbrook's combination of length, height, and weight... just compare their builds

How can you NOT label Curry as a boom or bust type of guy? Dude averaged 27 a game, carried his team all this year and deep into the Madness of March last year, high BBIQ, etc.

Curry is waaaaayyyyy different than Frye, Sweetney.

So far the Knicks have said that they want Rubio, Curry, Thabeet, Derozen, Holiday.

Someone is going to fall to the Knicks at 8.

Griff
Thabeet
Rubio
Harden
Hill
Jennings
Curry
Derozen

Then there is Holiday, Flynn, Evans, Mullens

I think there are five players that we can count on being gone before we pick - Griffin, Rubio, Thabeet, DeRozan and Harden. If we end up with either Curry or Holiday, I'll be happy.

Isn't there anyone with stiff legs and a bad back available at #8?
