if d'antoni coaches in 2010, then he will have the longest tenure since van gundy. so maybe amare thinks mda won't be around by then?

knicks offseason 2010: sign nash, amare, re-sign quentin, trade for marion and pick up kurt thomas on the cheap.

SSOL - but the SS now stands for social security...

That prediction will be about as right as your Knicks are guaranteed the 2nd pick prediction.

i was right in 2006...

I would not take old Amare over Bosh. Looking at player efficiency ratios, I think Bosh is the better all around player. I probably wouldn't offer a max contract to either of them though. Besides LBJ and Wade, I wouldn't max any of the other FA players (even though other teams absolutely will). Maybe Dirk, but he is getting old too. I think all-star caliber players can be had for less than the max. I wouldn't max anyone less than a legit perennial MVP candidate under the age of 28.

an old Amare? the dude is 26! just a little over a year older than Bosh. Amare will get the max, u can be sure of that... & we'd be stupid not to give it to him if u ask me... there's maybe 4 other bigmen in the NBA that are better than him & he's just hitting the prime of his career... we're not likely to be in any position to draft or acquire a player like that in the foreseeable future, & we'll have plenty of cap space in 2011 to sign another bigname player to go along w/him even if we can't land Lebron or Wade in 2010... unless u think no other teams other than the Cavs or Heat will win a championship in the next decade, i don't see the reasoning behind not being willing to max out any other players than those 2.

Really? I thought Amare and didn't get along.

Hahn is twittering that Amare told a Wash DC radio station the same thing - that he'd be great in DC.

Can Amare see is my first question? Put Wade together with Amare. I beginning to think that Lebron will have trouble playing with others.

even if we can't get Wade or Lebron... throw the max at Amare & sign up Nash in 2010, & combined w/Chandler, Gallo, whoever we draft in this lottery (hopefully Derozan) & another mid level type free agent as well as whoever we land in a trade of Lee &/or Nate this year, & u can easily have yourself a championship contender right there in a year or 2 IMO.

Lebron is the market anywhere he goes.

OTOH Amare is the type of player who needs a NY to become famous.

funny Bosh is the Rodney Dangerfield of bigs. First Shaq, then Zach, now Stat are going in on him.

He gets no respect.
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

A lot can change in a year. Bosh might lead his team to another near 50 win season for all we know. I'm sure there are 30 teams in the league that would love to have him.

Bosh is a damn good player, but not as good as Amare... we'd be lucky to get Bosh too in 2010 for that matter.

Lebron is going to end up in NY.
I'm not sure why people are saying if this or if that.
There's a reason why Lebron goes to the Yankee games with his NY hats.
There's a reason why he's on the opposite sideline of the Cleveland Browns with his NY hat on.
There's a reason why he invited all the Yankees to the game last night.
Him and CC are very close friends.
My point is....where's there's smoke there is fire.

Knicks should trade for Bosh. Toronto will want to get something for him. I doubt that teams like the Warriors and others will trade assets for a one year rental. Bosh will attract another big wing. That is how you impress the Lebrons and Wades of the world.

I do think Ferry will make every attempt this offseason to go after Bosh as a sign of committment for Lebron. If that happens forget about Lebron. Why not beat them to the punch.

i agree, i think the Knicks should make a serious play for either Amare or Bosh this year using Lee, Nate, Harrington, Hughes & either Gallo or whoever we pick in the lottery as assets, & i think Walsh is planning on doing just that.

Why would you throw in you young players knowing that Amare is going to bolt from the Suns. You should just stop at Lee, Nate, Harrington and Hughes no need to add anymore.

because we're not getting him w/just Lee, Nate & Harrington.

what i like is how much he wants to play here and his fiery attitude... i wasnt big on him before this interview but now i am, we need players who WANT to be here... who are passionate... AS sounded real passionate like he couldn't wait to get to the big apple.. that's what the **** is up... LETS DO THIS!!!

Lets be real... If you upgrade Lebrons second best player from Mo Williams to Amare Stoudamire... we are talking Dynasty.
All you need to do is fill in minor pieces around them, which would be really easy.

Lets do this
Amare: Knicks should take me over Bosh
