Haha. Guess this means he's going to become a Knick, since we find a way to hate on every singe one of our players only right we prepare for Lebron's arrival by needlessly hating on him in Cleveland.

C'mon, duke is a class act and when he retires he will go down as the single greatest basketball player of all time. Yeah, I said it Bytch.

that's a long way off. it'll be very interesting to see where he stands then.

Doesn't matter. It'll still be Jordan.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Marv, LBJ is clearly bigger, stronger, and more 'roided than him, but do you feel he's reached Oscar Robertson status yet?

He's clearly great, but right now I think he's Kobe-Hakeem-Garnett-Barkley great. Not yet Oscar-Magic-Bird great, let alone MJ great.

He's on his way, but he doesn't have enough "clutch" and wins under his belt yet.

LIsten to the NY fans being sour on the Hype!

Were any of you sick of the Jordan-is-god crap while it was going on? The Magic Johnson crap in its day? Bird?

If you watch jordan highlights there were no coasting, but he certainly did his share. They all do.

YOu think Lebron can't coast? Then your buying into the same expectations as everyone else.

He hit is first big shot in a game that really counted and it was a great moment.

This kid has carried the cavs to the semi's last and perhaps again this year, was the MVP and one is complaining about the hype? He has handled it very well in my opinion!

If your tired of the hype, turn it off! I can't watch every moment of every game. Too much fluff!

I remember the knicks of the 90's and when they got eliminated I felt relief as the games were slow and intense and listening to Bill Walton drone on and on just wore me out!

Lebron is under microscope and the league needs him in the finals!

yeah, i was annoyed by the Jordan hype & the arse kissing by the officials in the playoffs too... the difference was like i already mentioned i don't remember any of the other greats gushing over a game 2 winning shot before the series was even over, & the way the media is hyping up this shot is seriously over the top... they so desperately wanna put Lebron in the same class as those past NBA legends it's scary... let him accomplish something before u hype him up to this extent is what i'm saying... he won an MVP award, that's great... Tim Duncan's won 2 MVP's & has multiple championships under his belt, has he ever been hyped remotely close to the way Lebron is now? uh, no... it's kinda hard to turn it off when it's being thrown in your face on every sports channel imaginable Nalod... i got nothing against Lebron James, i love him as a player, but the media circus is ridiculous & IMO it's beginning to get to his head a bit... & btw, i never said Lebron coasts on the court, i'm guessing ur talking to someone else w/that one.

lebron's got 10X the charisma and media star power that timmy has. he’s up there in michael’s category with that, and the media/internet saturation is what, 100, 1000 X that of michaels's era?

I think there is something to be said for arrogance. If you go around belittling people or insulting others that's bad. But MJ and Kobe were just as arrogant in their own ways. When you are that good a certain degree of arrogance is boud to creep in. As long as he is talking about himself I have no issues with him. If he starts talking down other people like Shaq used to do then you have a real case.

which great players? oscar, magic, bird, russell, jordan? first of all, other than magic, they were all in their rookie years. but put up each of their first 5 years next to lebron's and it would be interesting to see where they all were at this point in their careers. Regardless of what you find though, he’s still got to surpass what they all accomplished over the entirety of their careers before he can be called the best ever.

ur just reinforcing my point tho... right now it's all pretty much hype & overboard hype at that... there's no question this kid is as charismatic as they come, but he hasn't won anything yet & people are already making MJ comparisons... the media is overblowing this kid's achievements at every opportunity because they're desperate to cling onto the hype machine & ride the Lebron wave... it's pretty ridiculous... a game 2 winning shot in a series his team looks to be on its way towards losing... i guarantee u that shot will still be played over & over again anyway after the Finals are over... anyone remember any hugely hyped big game winning shots made by players on losing teams? i don't... that's cuz the media doesn't overblow them the way they have in this case.

He is the best basketball player ever at 23 and the most accomplished. He will be the best ever with no qualifications when it is all said and done, dont trip. And he will be wearing a Knick jersey.

They just don't get off the guys gluteus maximus and it's absolutely getting to his head. You can tell he's getting ****y too.

The Magic are winning this series 3-1 and have totally had Cleveland's number, yet all ESPN and TNT keeps talking about is how awesome it is that LeBron hits clutch shots and is scoring 40 point games, as if neither of them have happened before. Why isn't ESPN talking about how dominant Dwight Howard is turning into and what a great team Orlando is. It's bullcrap.

And oh by the way. Larry Johnsons 4 point play and Allan Houstons shot were so much better and more significant than LeBrons game 2 game winner.

Both Robert Horry's shots were better than Lebron's shot because it helped his team go to the next level. Lebron's shot only helped his team to win one game. If the refs called the game right this would be a sweep.

Hearing about LeBron is tiring. He is an arrogant jerk and to top it off there are many times where he is not playing as hard as he could be. He coasts often. If he had Jordan's drive he'd be a much better player.

That being said there wouldn't be a fan alive who wouldn't want him on their favorite team.

Yet, he is what he is, a self absorbed arrogant jerk that was handed everything since high school whereas other past superstars earned it.

that sounds more like kobe than lebron cosmic. I think lebron has lived up to the enormous hype surrounding him and has handled it pretty well...

up to this year he's handled it pretty well but when he was gushing about that shot himself in the post game interview when his team hadn't even won anything yet, it was pretty telling to me that the media worship is beginning to get to his head... like i said last week, if Derek Fisher or some other role player had made that shot, u wouldn't have heard even a fraction of the media hype about it & i can guarantee that Fisher wouldn't have been sitting there in a post game interview gushing over how impressive that shot was either when the series was still a far ways from being over... i've seen Kobe & MJ make infinitely more clutch shots in bigger games during the Finals & i don't remember hearing them worshipping themselves in a post game interview over the shot they'd made... Lebron needs to step up & will his team to victory in this series & the Finals before he sits back & admires his work.
I this disagree. I watched that post game interview live. Lebron was humble. Also what is missing when you watch it on youtube is the questions that were being asked to Lebron. The only questions the reporters wanted to ask him was that big shot. Even my wife was saying are they going to ask Lebron anything else???

refs have swallowed their whistles in the 4th when it comes to Howard. notice the leg trip a.k.a. moving screen b.k.a. an offensive foul by Howard to free Lewis.

even the last play of regulation where Howard jumped over Varajeo and damn near broke his back pulling him down went uncalled.

Yeah but remember what the question was in the post game interview. The reported asked Lebron if he hit shots like before when he was a kid. It was only then when Lebron responded that he did stuff like that as a kid. How else was he suppose to respond? Then there was a follow up question about if he always did things like in the playground. Lebron answered the question like anyone else would. Many times people look at the answers that players give but forget about the questions the reporters ask.

no, i just think MJ or Kobe woulda answered those questions differently personally... but whatever... the media's seriously gotta chill out & Lebron needs to be careful he doesn't buy into his own hype of being the greatest ever (thank you Jerry West) before he's earned it.
