If Curry averages 5/5 his first year, and 7/7 his second year, like Stockton did at Utah, I suspect he'll get torn apart and tossed out. Mark Jackson didn't last with the Knicks and he started out at about double Stockton's stats. Curry's going to need some practice playing with/against better players. He's only been playing PG for a year. He's going to need time. A patient team will probably end up with a very nice player but I can't see him coming into the Knicks situation and running the team effectively. If you can live with Duhon as the starter for another year or so, maybe Curry makes sense, but I can't see that happening. Or, if your team can use Curry off the bench for a while as shooter while he works on his point skills as a back up, that might work. I agree that MAD's system might be very good for Curry but I'm not sure the Knicks are the best team for his career.

I am not sure about the Stockton comparison. Stockton was tough as nails that was the completed PG package. He can defend, create and lead.

From what I have seen Curry is a great shooter, a very good leader, suspect defense, great vision and can make the no frills passes with great accuracy. Sounds like Mark Price.

Nice picks...
One guy is looking where to run... and another where are the teammates...
And one defender is just looking how to stop his man but another is... well... helpless. You cannot outrun the ball.

If Curry is anything like Stockton, Price or Hornacek then "The Godfather" has no choice but to pick Curry at 8.

I am not sure about Hornacek comparison though. Hornacek had trouble creating his own shot while Curry can get his shot off anytime he wants ala Mark Price.

hornececk did create his own shots in philly but he had no choice because either he or spoon were the only offensive options. hornececk was better implimented with screens and catch and shoot in utah and in phoenix. hornececk was also a heckava defender too which i am not sure curry is or will be. the biggest thing is his body type and can it hold up to the physical aspect of the game. if he has the mental resolve and toughness of rip hamilton or iverson, both coming out of college just as thin, then he will be fine. however, if not, i am afraid he could be another jj redick.

curry gets a bit out of control at times when he tries to create his own shot. He's lethal away from the ball running through screens and picks and his release is so quick he needs so little space to operate
