I would love for the Knicks to sign the Birdman or Kleiza to a MLE. Birdman would be a perfect fit inside for the Knicks. I really hope they trade down or trade the pick for next year.

Birdman is not leaving DEN... they love him there, he loves it there, & more importantly he signed w/them to begin with cuz that's the place where he was able to change his life around & kick his drug habit... the Nuggets will re-sign him & he'll stay a Nugget.

Agree, I love what he is doing though. Hope he can keep this up and not regress to being a drug addict again. He is definitely a fan favorite in Denver.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

i love him too... guy plays w/a ton of energy & brings passion & life into that team everytime he steps on the floor & he's an elite shotblocker to boot... always was interested in getting him before he got suspended, but now i think he's in DEN to stay.

& while we're on the DEN topic, Kenyon Martin has been having a great series too... idiots who said he was washed up need to MAN UP!!!

he has many energies, very good for crowd and almost led league in blocks. incredible man.

his tattoos and atitude are a different story, i dislike them. he's just another nate, get the heck out of here. i am all about focusing on the game nothing else. if he focused 100% instead of diverting brain energies into showboating, he would be even better. get outo f here.

but rasheed wallace? that's absurd. the guy is done.

Funny how he is all about focusing on the game and nothing else yet all he focuses on is tats and ink

no i mean i focus on the game 100%, but i feel that the players themselves distract themselves from the game by expressing themselves through lots of tattoos.

if they let their game talk 100%, they would be much better players and a better product. right not their tats are talking like, 30% and their game 70%, and that's not optimal product.

that's what they represent to me.

ignore features cheapen the forum experience and counter-productively diminish the scope ofone's view on the knicks.

birdman is exactly what we need.but he's also 31, 32 next season. how much longer can his body take the pressure after years of drug abuse?

Lebron's got tats too... in fact i dunno of any elite players in the game that aren't inked up someplace other than Tim Duncan & Steve Nash.

Birdman is a big risk character wise, esp in NYC.

I like Klieza but another SF at the MLE price is too much.

Rather have Ramon Sessions to couple with Evans, Harden or even Derozan in the draft.

Agree with this big time. He has found a town, a team, and a coach which fit him well. He would be wise to stay there.

John Hammond is not making any pretenses that the Bucks will be able to afford to climb over the luxury tax during the 2009-10 season.

"We need to have discipline moving forward," said Hammond. "That means that we need to have discipline from the financial side of our decisions. We are a team that is teetering at the (luxury) tax and for us to change our roster and to move the organization in a direction which we feel that we would want to go, we're going to need some financial flexibility. And in order to get to that position, we have to have discipline here initially."

Staying below the luxury-tax threshold for next season will be paramount for the Bucks.

Charlie Villanueva and Ramon Sessions will both be restricted free agents, but the club is already at approximately $67 million in salary with just their qualifying offers, if you also count in the salary of their draft pick.

are you really that ignorant and uninformed about this subject. do you even know what substance he was suspended for....NO...no-one does b/c birdman has made it a point to not mention it. also, you realize that his 'drug abuse' spanned a whopping two years right? so its not like he was a 10 yr meth junkie living on the streets. he is a highly conditioned professional athlete who probably eats well and exercizes alot. therefore, the human body will counter most effects of mild (and some severe) drug abuse over a short period of time...by the looks of it, he seems to have recovered pretty damn good.

from a public service perspective - he did say in an interview the other day that it doesnt matter what drug it was, the purpose is that he is now clean, learned from it and is a HUGE spokesperson in the denver communit trying to help people who are where he was.

i mean dont you believe in someone making mistakes and then learning from it? even you admitted to buying "contraband" back in the day, does that make you such a bad person? i'd argue that your posts are some of the most uninformed jibberish to ever grace the pages of UK, but that doesnt mean i think youre a bad person or that i feel your posts could get better....with time.........you get my jist or head still in the sand?

Before we get (or not get) our suppers from FA it doesn't make sense to commit to any long term deals including MLE, etc.
If we will get Bosh why sign center, if we will get LeBron why we need PF/SF, if we get Wade why we need SG/PG?
First things first.
I do not think Walsh and Mike are looking for anything seriously before 2010/2011.
Some chip, low risk prospects and half-made guys will be fine but why take a risk?

Charlie V--absolute no brainer. 6-11 F who can play some C and on a 35 scale is a 20-10 player

I didnt think it would be possible to get a player young like this for what would be a cheap price compared to production who also is made for uptempo basketball--give him an MLE with the ability to opt out after 2 to make it enticing--we need the size and he is a burgeoning player who fits

You put him in Jefferies C position
