OK, so why does a person need a GPS for a place they drive to all the time. That's another thing. It's not just exploration. It's hardly that. I just know it's easier to remember where you're going where you actually pay attention to where you go and if it's your first time going to this job then leave earlier.
Like I said, map quest and yahoo map work just as well.
And relying on the GPS can backfire on you too. For example, what if you decide to take a road trip and all of a sudden, you lose your signal. You're screwed.
GPSs suck.

On the topic of GPS, it really came in handy when my band was on tour. Not only for finding the clubs in all the various cities that we stopped off in, but also because it allowed us to look up local diners to grab food after shows. It's a tool. Just like a map is a tool. I don't get the GPS hate.
