If the Knicks want to ensure they get Curry--they could work out a financial deal with Washington to flip from 8 to 5

If you could get Lee to agree to a deal with Washington, I would have them pick a guy we want at 5 and then send Lee packing for the 5th pick and cap fodder as soon as a deal can be consummated.

I thought under NBA rules teams cannot negotiate with free agents until July 1st. In which case, Lee can't agree to anything until a week after Draft Night. I think Lee might end up taking a qualifying offer from the Knicks when he sees that no one is willing to break the bank on him.

Yeah but eVil, whose to say the Wizards don't get some 3rd party guy to negotiate with Lee and feel him out... I mean honestly, this stuff happens.

The only way it will make sense is if Rubio drops b/c of his buyout.

to me, this seems like this could happen. his buyout may make it a challenge for the teams above the wiz to expect to get him.

thanks for this, now you're back on top of the news senor su, even if you still have some kind of desire to enter the cage wit me.

Why would it be difficult for teams above him if all teams adhere to the same restrictions. The majority of Rubio's 6 million Euros will have to come out of his pocket. That's why guys stay overseas until their contract is up or their buyout is more reasonable.

check the thread i posted on why rubio could still become a knick.

it has to do with his nike endorsement being potentially increased to cover the buyout if he plays for a big market...

which probably won't happen if he plays for all the teams from 2-5...

which then might mean he drops out of the draft (which i believe he can still do).

If Nike is on board then he should jump at the chance. No other foreign prospect ever got that deal. What happens if he is selected by a team and then traded to a big market will they still cover the buyout?

So Rubio could pick his team then using the Nike buyout if he says he wants to play in just NY. Now this is a deal Donnie can discuss on the up and up.

I always hear about these player who have agreements with Nike that if they go to a big market (NY) they get a big payday and yet they don't come....

well, it's pretty logical from a biz/marketing perspective, but good point.

however, in this case he might have some capital to do it.

i can't think of a lot of players other than lebron.

Interesting, but I wonder if they want Curry that much.

Washington got worked. They tanked thinking they were going to get at least a top 2. Waste of a horrible year.

We're doing great, Papa! Thanks for asking my man. How are you doing?

We been playing lots of gigs. Did our first regional tour last Summer. Hope to follow that up again this Summer. We've been covering lots of ground in the Northeast. I think we're building something slowly. We get offered a lot more gigs now. But what we really need is for people to start offering us some real money.

We're gettin' ready to put together a full length CD. I feel like we've grown a lot from where we were when we did our last CD. So this next piece should be epic. In the meantime, we're promoting and trying new web stuff. I just signed us up for iLike.com. Ever heard of it? I haven't used it much but hope that it becomes my one solution to managing all the crap artists have to deal with nowadays (MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

http://www.ilike.com/artist/Do+You+See+the+Dark

But yeah man. That's the news. We been gettin at it, workin hard, and most importantly, growing.

"There are a lot of great players in this draft. We're in a good spot to get a good player or to possibly use that player in a trade," Ernie Grunfeld said in a telephone interview. "We feel comfortable with the fifth pick, but we are going to explore our options to see what can make us the best possible team next year. But we feel, if we have all of our pieces out there, it would be hard for any young player to come in and break into the lineup -- even if it was the first pick."

Wait! Why has no one ripped Grunfel. Second worse record, and his players are so good, that the fifth pick can't contribute?

Sorry, Ernie, your team sucks.

Now I guess he isn't in love with the talent at 5 and would rather try to trade it that make and keep the pick.

You wouldnt be disappointed that you only have a #5 pick to show for such a wack ass season, in a wack ass draft? Didnt they win like 19 games? And they are only going to have like Hill or Harden to show for it?

i'd probably be disappointed but i'll tell u right now i'd trade places w/them in a heartbeat... so the Knicks won a few more games than they did... big whoop... we're sitting in the same boat waiting for the lottery balls to be tabulated & ended up w/a pick 3 slots lower than them... i'd say they're in a better position than we are... so tanking might not have gotten them exactly what they wanted, but IMO it got them to a better place than trying to win every game w/a crappy roster got us.

Washington needs help at backup pg, PF, and center. I would offer them Nate for the 5th pick and any expiring contract to make the deal work. Washington then drafts for us and we sign and trade Nate in July when he becomes eligible. They can then move Arena to SG and start Nate at PG. We could do the same thing with Lee if they are more interested in him.

Call me crazy but if the Knicks move up to #5 it may to grab Holiday. I have a feeling Walsh likes him and I think he's going to get hot by draft time...

Rubio can fall to 5th if his camp plays it hand that way.

Clips: Griff

Memphis: they need a big and get Thabeet. Safe pick.

Oklahoma: They got westbrook, Rubio don't want no Oklahoma, they go with Harden. They need a big. They could trade the pick for an established big.

Sac: they need a point, and Rubio still on the board. THey got screwed out of Griff pick. Maloofs can sell it to rubio. Can sell the Vegas thing. Give his parents a condo with all the trimmings on the strip! Maybe sell they move the team to vegas in near future.
I see Rubio falling here unles Grizz or Thundah do a deal.

THe Wiz: 5-9th is all the same. They will have takers for the pick. This is where our friend Stern brokers a deal.

If Stern wants Rubio in the league (Euro teen star) and Wiz-Sac want some quality in return its got to happehn at the 4-5 pick.
