this is of course a flawed question since we won't know a lot of things until then, but just to guage the temperature of the forum's feelings about who we think will wind up being picked... i couldn't include everyone, but these seem like guys that could wind up landing in our lap.
Jennings
Evans
Curry
DeRonzon
Thabeet
Harden
Flynn
Lawson

I voted Curry... god I hope its not Curry

Imagine Jrue or Tyreke steps on to the West 4th courts and sees that he's matched up against that little twelve year old. Yikes...

Please take the physically superior player Donnie.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

The player I want at the 8 pick is earl clark or demar deronzon if we trade up I want thabeet if he is still avaiable. I think demar deronzon can be a superstar in the nba and be franchize player on the knicks. I think earl clark can be very good player like mcdyees he can be allstar player.

Mister Clark... Mister Clark...

I'm starting to gradually warm up to 6'10 homeboy Earl Clarke from Rahway

"He has shown a great deal of improvement from his freshman to sophomore seasons in both his body and game, a tribute to his strong work ethic and desire ... Hits the glass extremely hard, his long arms and explosive leaping ability make him a Windex man. His added strength has given him the ability to battle inside with bigger players..."

6'10 and could be an alternate answer at power forward should David Lee walk

Lead Guard - to be determined by 2010 with Duhon as stand in until "the one" (not Lebron) arrives

G - 6'8 Wilson Chandler

F - 6'10 Danilo Gallinari with fingers crossed

F - 6'10 Earl Clark

C - tbd in 2010 (preferably 6'11 Chris Bosh) hey, 6'11 Marcus Camby would make a nice backup

Curry if we stay put, but I think we'll make an all out assault to get Rubio. We'll see what happens.

This is extremely likely. I think we forget that the Knicks have competent (to say the least) management and they'll do what's actually best. If they think Curry can be someone that can run D'Antoni's type of team, they'll pick him. If not I'm sure they'll try to dump salary or move up

Personally, I'd say trade whatever to get Rubio.

This competent management the Knicks have, were they on vacation this past season?

have you payed attention to Knicks management this year? Zbo, Jamal both gone. That's HUGE.

Thabeet is going to be a bust, he got pushed around nightly and he has absolutely no offensive game. BUST

Now that we know, it's Curry all the way for me at 8. I have a funny feeling he'll be gone by 8 though.

I am fine with Curry, but I agree with Des.. I think we got on an all-out assault for Rubio.

Thabeet got pushed around nightly...all the way to co-player of the year and defensive player of the year in the Big East? He got pushed around all the way to the final 4? Yeah, that makes sense.

I thought you always say defense wins championships?

How about Curry, will he get pushed around in the NBA? Because he never had the chance to be pushed around playing against mid-level comp...

Who can Curry guard in the NBA?

Dumping players for nothing is not really that big of a trick. Oh wait it is great because we getting LebRon!...Right?

It is great because those guys suck and salary cap space for anyone > them.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

It is a big trick. We got players back who still contribute AND who have lesser years on their contract.

So, we got similar players and added the opportunity to sign the like of LeBron, Wade, Bosh, Amare or any other free agent in 2010. We also created cap flexibility over the next few years. We can trade Mobley and Harrington and Hughes for better players.

Why is your focus only on LeBron?

DeRozan and Mullens for the win. Make it happen Donnie. Sign Delfino for the LLE.

These kinds of threads are no good at this point. Obviously a majority of the picks might not be available for selection. If we have a poll and Curry or whoever wins 70% of the vote and he is not available at 8--what value is the thread other than who is your preference. That being said I put my vote in for Evans[and he wont be there] and I hope Donnie Walsh can use some of Dolans money to pry pick 14 from Pheonix who has been willing to give it up to get Mullens.

If Curry and Evans are off the board--I would seriously consider trading down in an effort to get a 2010 first round pick with very little restriction--i.e down to Chicago at 16 for their 2010 restricted to 3 and pick 16 and still go hard after that 14 pick from Pheonix which I think will be available. At that point I think you can choose from a pool I believe will have Teague Holiday Calathes and Lawson--get Mullens at either 14 or 16

i like the idea about buying phoenix's pick, those guys are always willing to sell and there will definitely be value there.

i just want the knicks to take a point. if duhon can have 20 assist games and look like john stockton, the most talented guard in this draft should be an all-star. all signs indicate curry is the pick.

oohah, you say curry is a shooting guard, i couldn't disagree more. if curry goes in the lotto it's because a team is going to play him at point. with the knicks, he's definitely a PG.

i also love the idea of chandler + #8 to trade up for rubio, please make that happen.
