Thing is I think Scola-while 4 years older-may be able to bring alot of the same numbers Lee brings in this system while adding some defense.

i think Scola's better suited to a halfcourt style game, but he'd cost less than Lee & bring some much needed frontcourt defense... he's not the rebounder or finisher around the basket that Lee is tho... dunno how much of an overall impact he'd make but i'd rather pay market value for Scola than market value for Lee because of our cap situation & what we're looking to do in 2010.

Thing is alot of guys who are known as gritty defenders are kinda looked at like that IMO. I like Udonis Haslem too. He's a better scorer than Scola, IMO, and nice defender/rebounder who can play that undersized center position MDA wants. Lee may be the best combo of Haslem and Scola while Scola may be a half step below Lee. Haslem, IMO, may be the best rounded player of the bunch. Haslem shoots like 80% from the line also. That's great for a big man.

Haslem's under contract next year so he's not really an option for us... i doubt MIA would trade his expiring to us for 1 of ours.

If you put Lee on Houston, he'd easily exceed Scola's numbers. He's more active, he runs the floor, he finishes, he plays the pick and roll to perfection.

If you put Scola on the Knicks, he'd be hard pressed to match Lee's numbers.

That's not to say I don't like Scola. I thought he was the 2nd coming of Dino Radja when he lead Argentina to the gold medal in the Olympics.

Salaries aside, I think Lee would be a better player than Scola if you had to choose one or the other on most teams.

?? Ming didn't play, he was injured. In the one game that Yao played he was still hurt and Scola handle Lee defensively for most of the game. Don't you go there because you better know the facts first. Scola played Lee up front and outplayed him. As noted in the gamethreads with quotes like "Damn Scola is killing Lee." I know I posted that a few times. Scola has always outperformed Lee in games even when they were both playing at the 4 spot last year while Curry was at center or Randolph.

So Lee is better than Biedrins since he dropped 35/21 on him and he had 65 double/double this year so no one really killed him.

Wow I was wrong Scola killed Lee in the game Ming didnt play. He had 16-14 and was a -10 and Lee has 17-13 and was a plus 11 and the Knicks won the game

LOL since you looked it up please let us know how long did it take Lee to get his points compared to Scola. In other words how many minutes did they play. Go ahead, it should be fun.

Do you realize there's more to evaluating a player than simply looking at PPG and RPG?

scola is older, yea, but scola is also gruff, lee is more refined. we need some gruff

Let me guess your going to say Biedrins is a better defender when his team gave up as many points as the Knicks. The Knicks arent going to play with defensive grind it out players that isnt MDA style
