Thing is I think Scola-while 4 years older-may be able to bring alot of the same numbers Lee brings in this system while adding some defense.
i think Scola's better suited to a halfcourt style game, but he'd cost less than Lee & bring some much needed frontcourt defense... he's not the rebounder or finisher around the basket that Lee is tho... dunno how much of an overall impact he'd make but i'd rather pay market value for Scola than market value for Lee because of our cap situation & what we're looking to do in 2010.
Thing is alot of guys who are known as gritty defenders are kinda looked at like that IMO. I like Udonis Haslem too. He's a better scorer than Scola, IMO, and nice defender/rebounder who can play that undersized center position MDA wants. Lee may be the best combo of Haslem and Scola while Scola may be a half step below Lee. Haslem, IMO, may be the best rounded player of the bunch. Haslem shoots like 80% from the line also. That's great for a big man.
