I'm glad none of the Mets ever dealt with performance enhancing drugs. We prefer to play the game the right way unlike other organizations.

At least not on the baseball diamond. The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the substance is supposed to boost sex drive. It is not Viagra, but a substance that treats the cause rather providing a temporary boost in sexual performance, the source said.

(as the story is being reported and not knowing what sparked what they were talking about, i caught the end of an si writer listing an all steroids team, and they are talking about some guys, and i was like, "what about manny!?)

talk about ironic...

but i am guessing it was FAR more widespread than we are even being led to believe.

name a star in the past 20 years and i would not be surprised to hear many of them benefited form some form of performance enhancing substance...

what about someone like garret anderson who NEVER hit for power (very good hitter) who between 98-03 hit 2, 3 and 4 times as many as when he was younger.

it is a BIG BUSINESS in a neo-liberal capitalist world.

this is why all of the venom for bonds and a-rod is beyond hypocritical when it seems the entire league was doing it at some point, for years.

i kept saying this stuff in the a-rod steroid thread, and the chickens are still coming home to roost...and i don't think it will stop anytime soon until baseball comes 100% clean, which like AIG and the Federal Government dealing with our economic crisis and the flaws in banking, regulation, etc. will avoid at all costs, and hope eventually we forget...

get ready for some kind of distraction or showing "we will solve this problem" press conference, with some b.s. committee that won't do jack to penalize anyone...

a number of mets showed up in the mitchell report, (Hundley being one) and you don't think some of those guys from their good teams weren't "juicing?"

Canseco was on the Chris Meyers radio show and was saying that if you use steroids for a long period of time your sperm count is reduced dramatically and will not return to normal for many years. He speculated that Manny might have recently gotten off of steroids and was using this drug to up his sperm count. He said that he needed to do this when he stopped.

btw, the drug he was found to have taken is a women's fertility drug used to stimulate the body to produce more testosterone... Manny said he only took it cuz his doctor mistakenly prescribed it to him? are u kidding me? what kinda healthy grown man needs to take women's fertility drugs unless u'r coming down off a steroid cycle & need to get your body to start producing testosterone again? i'd love to hear his explanation of that one... there's so much more behind this than what's being reported, there better be some major follow up to this case just like there's been w/ARod's!

And A-Rod is the only name that conveniently leaks from the latest report? Bullshyt.

Manny gets caught like 4 minutes after he leaves the Saux using a drug so blatantly associated with roid use. ESPN wont say a damn thing.
