imo it's total open season to goof on isiah for anything and everything that he does. as knick fans it is our honor and joy to do so.

UltimateKnicks = First wives club.

The way it comes across.

oh really. and what do you have to back isiah up on after viewing his impact on this franchise first-hand for the past several years?

He's under such a gigantic microscope, there probably report that he didn't wash his hands after he took a leak.

Yeah, expect more of these feigned outraged stories from now on. Any little molehill will become a mountain once it hits the papers. Media has it out for him. We knew this.

I mean a breathless story because he failed to call a couple of recruits?

You are right...It's a non-story...

Russians say: "Grave will change the hunchback" (English version: "The leopard cannot change his spots" ...)
But I think Russian version is right on point for Isiah...

Yeah. I seen posters who posted far less and aren't posting no more. There's a line and addressing a fellow poster as an primitive ape no matter what term you use is one of those lines.

Use words you better understand is my advice.

sure, i'll do that, but maybe you can try to understand words better, as well. sophistic can in no way be related to being primitive. i don't know what your agenda is, but this is a 'non-issue' as we like to say.

Orangeblob, I am not agreeing with sebstar at all on this topic, but phar is right. I don't really see how your words were offensive either, but it's better to check your words anyway.

I used to write essays and poems all the time and I would use the thesaurus and put up crazy words, even though I didn't know jack crap what they meant. Eventually, I learned it's best to use words that come out of your mouth and pen and typing fingers more naturally to you, even if they are small, and learn about the big words as they go. Then incorporate that into your style. I'm sure you already know that, but just in case.

A little Allanfan fun fact. I did that thesaurus thing for a large paper, for my sociology class. This was a very important paper, and I decided to use the word "Crack brained" after using the thesaurus. Nice job me.

Yea, I agree with you, and you're right. using one of those is plain silly. at the same time, i would like to make clear that i don't make use of one of those often at all, but the "x = y z" format of sebstar's original comment lent itself to a similar response, which in turn lent itself to thesaurus words. let's hope this turns out ok, but if it doesn't, god bless you all.

I'm down here in Jacksonville and consider this a total bs article. This was barely a blip on the local sports talk radio. Would you prefer he take a kid in and waste a year of eligibility or have him get out in time to go somewhere where he will play.
The kid mentioned in the artilce is going to Jacksonville University not Jacksonville State.

i hear you man, though the focus of the article seemed to be on isiah ignoring his occupational duties, not so much what his transgression was. there would have been an article if he had done anything wrong, it just happens to be that he didnt inform these young players.

I have posted this before but I think this is what FIU is dealing with. It is too bad that high school kids have to experience him.

Profile of the Sociopath
This website summarizes some of the common features of descriptions of the behavior of sociopaths.

Glibness and Superficial Charm

Manipulative and Conning
They never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors as permissible. They appear to be charming, yet are covertly hostile and domineering, seeing their victim as merely an instrument to be used. They may dominate and humiliate their victims.

Grandiose Sense of Self
Feels entitled to certain things as "their right."

Pathological Lying
Has no problem lying coolly and easily and it is almost impossible for them to be truthful on a consistent basis. Can create, and get caught up in, a complex belief about their own powers and abilities. Extremely convincing and even able to pass lie detector tests.

Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt
A deep seated rage, which is split off and repressed, is at their core. Does not see others around them as people, but only as targets and opportunities. Instead of friends, they have victims and accomplices who end up as victims. The end always justifies the means and they let nothing stand in their way.

Shallow Emotions
When they show what seems to be warmth, joy, love and compassion it is more feigned than experienced and serves an ulterior motive. Outraged by insignificant matters, yet remaining unmoved and cold by what would upset a normal person. Since they are not genuine, neither are their promises.

Incapacity for Love

Need for Stimulation
Living on the edge. Verbal outbursts and physical punishments are normal. Promiscuity and gambling are common.

Callousness/Lack of Empathy
Unable to empathize with the pain of their victims, having only contempt for others' feelings of distress and readily taking advantage of them.

Poor Behavioral Controls/Impulsive Nature
Rage and abuse, alternating with small expressions of love and approval produce an addictive cycle for abuser and abused, as well as creating hopelessness in the victim. Believe they are all-powerful, all-knowing, entitled to every wish, no sense of personal boundaries, no concern for their impact on others.

Early Behavior Problems/Juvenile Delinquency
Usually has a history of behavioral and academic difficulties, yet "gets by" by conning others. Problems in making and keeping friends; aberrant behaviors such as cruelty to people or animals, stealing, etc.

Irresponsibility/Unreliability
Not concerned about wrecking others' lives and dreams. Oblivious or indifferent to the devastation they cause. Does not accept blame themselves, but blames others, even for acts they obviously committed.

Promiscuous Sexual Behavior/Infidelity
Promiscuity, child sexual abuse, rape and sexual acting out of all sorts.

Lack of Realistic Life Plan/Parasitic Lifestyle
Tends to move around a lot or makes all encompassing promises for the future, poor work ethic but exploits others effectively.

Criminal or Entrepreneurial Versatility
Changes their image as needed to avoid prosecution. Changes life story readily.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other Related Qualities:

Contemptuous of those who seek to understand them
Does not perceive that anything is wrong with them
Authoritarian
Secretive
Paranoid
Only rarely in difficulty with the law, but seeks out situations where their tyrannical behavior will be tolerated, condoned, or admired
Conventional appearance
Goal of enslavement of their victim(s)
Exercises despotic control over every aspect of the victim's life
Has an emotional need to justify their crimes and therefore needs their victim's affirmation (respect, gratitude and love)
Ultimate goal is the creation of a willing victim
Incapable of real human attachment to another
Unable to feel remorse or guilt
Extreme narcissism and grandiose
May state readily that their goal is to rule the world

(The above traits are based on the psychopathy checklists of H. Cleckley and R. Hare.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: In the 1830's this disorder was called "moral insanity." By 1900 it was changed to "psychopathic personality." More recently it has been termed "antisocial personality disorder" in the DSM-III and DSM-

Look this is a non story. Zeke is gone and the knicks still stink and I see no lite at the end of the tunnel. Isiah messed up in New York but this is a non story. It seems that we need to focus on what's happening with the Knicks. Forget Isaih. In seven month we will be calling for D'Antoni's head if he can't turn this thing around.

i don't see how u can not just pick up the phone & ask someone if you're not sure if you're allowed to contact a HS prospect or not to notify him that your school no longer wants him... that seems like a common sense kinda thing to do... i think Isiah's biggest problem is his own ego & he doesn't wanna look stupid to others, & that causes him to look even more stupid when he gets moves wrong... trust other people & ask them for advice if you're not sure about something... there's no shame in that.
