if you compare Mullins best moves -

trades:
Baron for Speedy and somebody elses EC (no picks given)
Jax and Harrington for Dunleavy and Murph

drafts:
Biedrins
Ellis
Randolph
the trade for Wright which got them a 19 yr old pf with alot of skill and potential plus it moved J-Rich's huge contract at the same time

free agent signings:
Turiaf at 4 yrs 17 mil
Anthony Morrow
Kelenna Azabuike

to Isiah's

trades:

of the numerous trades, the only one that ever improved the team was the Steph trade but the cost in the end has far outweighed the initial gains. looks even worse when you see what Mullin gave up for Baron

drafts:

Nate
Lee
Ariza

free agent signings:

re-signing KT was the only money IT ever spent wisely

its not even close. Mullin > Zeke.
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

u forgot to include Wilson Chandler in that list... & if ur gonna count Nate as a good draft pick & KT as a good re-sign then u also have to include the Q Rich trade as a good trade, since we used KT to land Nate in that deal.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

add chandler

IMO Kurt for Q-Rich was an awful trade even if it did yield Nate. The uninsured 3 chucking bricklayer Q hasn't been even 1/4th the ballplayer KT has been over the same span and what Nates brought to the game hasn't made up the difference.

On Mullins, where is the fact that he traded for Rodney White and Skita and had to give up a 1st round pick to do so. That was a horrible deal. I know people in the Bay area who still haven't forgave him for that deal. I think he waived White soon after. Just ridiculous. Giving up a future pick for Marcus Williams only to release him in the same season isn't something to write home about either.

Mullins made some bad deals but he never traded away lottery picks. And he made deals like the J Rich one and the Dampier one in which he actually acquired firsts without taking on a teams contractual mistakes.

we can continue down the bad side road, however, opening up dialogue about bad trades and giving up 1sts when Isiah's stint in NY is part of the conversation is the corner in Pandora's Box where the most deadliest of plagues resides

I can't see how you can compare Chris Mullen and Isiah Thomas. There will never be another Cap'n Zeke.

The thing is you can't tell if Mullin was behind the good moves or Don Nelson. Since Don Nelson has arrived in Golden State he has been pulling a lot of the strings.

We went through the same crap with Isiah though. Was it Larry Brown? Or was it Isiah? Making...the moves. In the end it's the GM at fault if it does not work out.

Mullin has a whole lot of garbage attributed to his name.

Honestly...no thanks.

The thing is, Mullin was doing horrible before Nelson.

Mullin getting hired right now wont mean anything. Walsh will still be calling the shots. What kind of impact he has in 2011 and after is a cause for concern but nothing to go crazy about just yet.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Eh, maybe so, but I think Mullin has more pull than people think. Maybe we can blame the GS disaster on Nelson but I'm not so sure.

Walsh also respects Mullin so he might be inclined to listen to him.

I'd be VERY wary of Chris Mullin running the show. I don't want to hear about the one successful GSW season. It has proven to be a fluke.

It so boring lately with the Knicks that they need some meat to eat.
Eddy is woking hard on this together with his driver... but looks like it is not enough.
They need at least another story to go around.

Every GM has his ups and downs.

Was mullin the architect of the team that went to conf finals and then for last two years stripped of authority? Thats what it looked like.
