I played ball against Hill.....Here in AZ.

I haven't watched him play too much, eventhough thats all they do here in Tucson, is watch college ball.

But I'm barely 6ft, and a solid ball player on both ends. I had to help guard Hill several times during this pickup game, since we were very short as a team.....But we played zone, and I was down low most of the time boxing him out, with or without the ball. He's definetly 6'9 but no more than 6'10.

Now, if I was 6'9 or taller, Hill would've been a non factor.

Drafting Hill is like drafting Channing Frye....At the time Frye was a good pick, but now we see, he wasn't a top 10 talent.

I just don't see the passion with Hill right now....Because he's so raw. And it's hard to predict because he still have a long ways to go, before he gets a good feel for the game. Right now, Lee could hold his own against Hill....

I would rather trade down a few spots, and hope Hill falls....otherwise, we have no room for error with this pick. We need something close to a sure thing.....Or take a chance on somebody with a higher ceiling....Hill has bust written all over him! But hey, if we pick him, I will root for him...But this is just my gut feeling!

Totally agree dude!

Arizona puts out the same type of big men year after the year. Hill will never live up to the hype of a Top5 or Top10 pick in the lotto - I guaren-damn-tee it.

Everyone is talking about what do to with the first or second pick, but what do we do if we get pick 3?

There is a huge drop off in the talent pool after the 2nd pick.

Do the Knicks pick Harden? Thabeet? Try to put together a package along with pick 3 for Rubio (probably # 2)?

We sure as hell better select Hasheem Thabeet at #3.

Then we can put all of the we need size and we need shot blocking questions to bed for 10 years.

I would try to trade with OK City and get their two first rounders.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

This is kind of a snap question. Ive never really considered this option. This needs more thought and I think I would need to know if Wall is in or out. Snap call says go big because we are small. But is the value of big at 3 there with Hill or Thabeet? I think Thabeet would be out and Hill would garner significant thought and a serious look. At first glance Hill looks like a ready made 4 for uptempo basketball.

Could we produce a scenario where we traded down AND picked up an unrestricted[or very little restriction] 2010 from a shaky team team later in the lottery who would care to move up 6-10 spots and make them throw in their 2nd rounder this year as well?

I would say the answer after thinking about for awhile is we need more info of who is actually IN and who isnt. Also we would need to get the pick:)

if the choice came down to keeping the #3 pick to take Thabeet or Hill or trading it, i'd have to trade it... i'd try to work a deal using the pick, Lee & Nate & see what that could net me... maybe u could get ur hands on a legitimate star bigman like Amare, or move down & still get a nice prospect like Derozan while adding more depth to take a sleeper pick later on in the draft, maybe Mullens

Agreed. After the top 2 there is a lot of potential, but no sure fire winners. Trading down may be the best option

To get good value when we trade down, we need to find a team that is very interested in trading up. Unless that happens, we're not going to get much and might as well use the pick to take the guy we like best.

All signs point to Rubio going #2.

Just out of curiosity: What would it take to trade up to take Rubio? Our pick plus, um, Nate and Duhon? I don't think that would do it. I'm sure Rubio has been discussed at length but I'm late to the party. His clips are amazing. I'm sure he'd have problems with D in the NBA but, wow, I've never seen a 19 year old guard with his skills/speed/game. If anyone is worth trading up for, I'd say it's Rubio.

i think it would be pretty close to impossible.

only thing i could possibly imagine would be our pick + chandler + gallo. lee or nate would have to go in a s&t and i can't imagine the #2 team wanting to take on the salary.

Would anybody be dissapointed if we ended up with James Harden? He seems like a rather safe pick. Decent size for the 2. Plays hard, smart, on both ends, skilled. Can shoot. Perfect fit for D'Antoni!
