I want to see Frank get some more minutes. We can't really evaluate him until we see him in more games for longer stretches.

knickgeek, i agree, he really only had one good quarter against the lakers. We will see him play more soon though.

WTF... just start him. He was balsy out there against LA. If you can justify starting Eisley because he 'doesn't play well off the bench, and needs it for his confidence' why not just put in FWil and bring Charlie off the bench?

Chaney has got to see that whatever he's doing isn't working as intended. Change is necessary, even it's just for the sake of change itself.
Let it be known: I believe in the Knicks this year-- deep into the playoffs, I swear to you my brothers...

DON CHANEY:

If he(FRANK) continues to play the way he's playing, he'll play against everybody," Chaney said. "If he stays focused, plays hard, he'll get the minutes."

When asked if he deserved more than a gold star for his effort, F. Williams responded that "everyone thinks they deserve more (playing time).

"At the same time, it's what's good for the team. If that's what it comes out to, I'd be more than glad to get it."

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

FWill didn't step it up like he did against the Fakers last night... I guess it was the foul trouble.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Well, we kind of need to get a good feel of what FW is all about before making this big push for Vujanic. Is FW a career backup (if that much) or can he be a quality starter in this league?

Another idea is making a trade w/ Indiana... how do Charlie Ward and Jamaal Tinsley's salaries work? IMO Ward is a better fit for that team (better defender and 3pt shooter than the aging Kenny Anderson)). Of course... is Tinsley an improvement over Eisley/FW/Ward?!

Or maybe Frankie doesn't play against Ben Wallace in video games.

Actually management does have a plan. Run the team like a corporate workgroup. Creativity and vision are less valued than seniority and conformity. Just try to break out of the box (like Don Nelson did when he coached the team for a half season) and you will be shipped out, unless, of course, no one will take you because your contract is way out of proportion to your ability.

Also, in response to Case's question "how often does a lottery pick get messed up?" the answer is that most picks don't turn out to be bigtime players, so I would say "happens to multiple teams every season". It's about either getting the top pick or getting lucky. Layden has no vision and even less luck, though I do think Lampe can become a threat in a couple seasons. He just needs to have a strong work ethic. Time will tell.

But Dolan and Layden are still under he impression that this team is "good enough" so, believing that, why wouldn't they pick Sweetney?! They figured he is closer to playing 10 minutes a game than any other PF/C available at 9th pick, so why not? They wouldn't need him, anyway, because, in their minds, the Knicks are already a playoff calibur team, and the only reason they have not gotten there was because 1) injuries 2) Sprewell screwing up the morale 3) Chaney not being given enough time.

Layden and Dolan are probably the only people on Earth surprised that this team is 3-8.

Part of me hates to see the Knicks lose, but part of me enjoys each loss as a way to stick it in Layden's and Dolan's faces that they don't know what the hell they're doing, and that this team hasn't been a really good team since the '94-'95 season. It's been downhill ever since Ewing's shot rimmed out. 1999 was a short-season fluke, one that I enjoyed immensely mind you, but a fluke nonetheless.

Each loss is one hopeful step towards the day when Dolan realizes he's a stinking worthless failure at everything he touches and finally gives up and stays the hell away from sports and business for good. Make no mistake, I root for the Knicks to win every game, but with every loss, there is an evil part of me that says "Good! Layden and Dolan are getting what's coming to them! Proof that they are incompetent to run a basketball team!" Unfortunately, in the corporate world, execs rarely admit fault and always BS their way around their mistakes (see AOL Time Warner).

WHEN WILL JUSTICE BE SERVED?! WHEN WILL THE FANS RUN DOLAN OUT OF TOWN ON A RAIL?! WHEN WILL THE ATLANTIC DIVISION RISE AGAIN?!

I think we had a VERY good team in 97... but the Bulls were better. Let alone the cHEAT
If anyone knows of a SMART Knicks forum, with lots of activity, and minus people like PLAYA... holla at your boy.

They were good until they shot themselves in the foot. How stupid did Ewing have to be to step onto the court? Anyway, "contenders" to me means they have a shot at winning it all. 1997? No chance, not against the Bulls, even if the Knicks didn't sabotage their own season with that stupid Miami incident.

Shaq on Frank Wiliams:

"He just got lucky," Shaquille O'Neal said. "If he plays well in the next game, then I'll take him seriously."

Williams has to play more so he can prove last night was not a isolated incident. I'd like to see him do it.

WHo the Fu-- is Shaq ?? Dude can't even make free-throws consistently during critical moments. Who is he to just other players??
