Uconn inability of its guards to effetivly shoot in the paremter defense hurt them, and likewise the lightening quick breakout of MState was devistating for them.

UConn still loses to NC in my book because of the shooting of Ellington and Danny Green, and they can still match them inside.

Thabeet can't be viewed based on this one game. He is still quite raw and his offense game limited. I really can't figure this kid out if he has the goods at what level.

He was very dominant at many times this season. Go back to the Seton Hall game where he had 25 points 20 rebounds 9 blocks. Look at the game against Louisville where he did not allow one point in the paint the whole game. Not many people have the ability to do that. You would hope that there would be more performances like that. If Hasheem goes to a team with a really good PG and PF I think that is his best fit. I think a pro team needs to sit down with him and really go over tape of his play-- and continue to work on his strength and skills. He really is only 22. If they can pack strength on him and they should be able to--lets see what the final product will look like.

If you could get a second pick high enough to get Brackins to pair with Thabeet on the front line... then maybe you'd have something.

Dudu
Chandler
Gallo
Brackins
Thabeet

You'd have a much much longer team with all the scoring coming from the 2-3-4 spots from different areas of the floor.

Just dreamin...

He lays on the floor extremely well... I mean considering how far he has to fall to hit it...

I have stated this since last year: I only want Thabeet if he is a mid-round pick. That's it.

He looked horrible in the lane at times. He gets the ball and flips up garbage at the rim.. I tell you, he will get pushed further out in the NBA and he won't even get the ball near the rim... plus he should have had 20 boards vs the smallish MSU players. I saw their small lineup pummel Uconn on the boards, a bunch of 6'3 guys were beasting on thabeet with boards...

Thabeet was invisible out there. No post moves, 6 rebounds when you are 7'3" in a MUST win game sucks, and 2 blocks also sucks. Mich State had some great blocks too.

Robinson had a good game.

Robinson was promised the starting 4 position next year and just said he will be back. That will be interesting next year--I think he has a chance to develop into a really nice player.

I like Robinsons game a lot...

Trade up to get Greg Monroe and all the problems will be solved. He is by far the best prospect at PF/C after Griffin.

Thabeet is what he is. A project.

If you draft him, you aren't drafting him based on the game against MSU. You are drafting him based on potential. If you don't think his ceiling is high you pass. If you think it is, you draft him. But Saturday shouldn't weigh into your decision.
I just hope that people will like me

If Ed Davis were to come out do you take him or Monroe in theory? (might not get a shot at Monroe either)

Monroe will be the second overall pick in the draft.

Are you taking into consideration that McHale isn't a GM anymore?

if folks think thabeet is soft, monroe is waaaaay soft and raw. he needs to stay in school. hope he develops some toughness there and not see toughness/grit/etc from this current knick roster (if he comes out and if the knicks got him).

Have you seen this guy play? As a freshman he put up very good numbers, Big men they tend to take longer to develop than guards at the college level he put up very good numbers. Not a soft player at all. You want soft you can check Thabeet they don't come softer than that. If he wasn't 7'3'' he wouldn't even be mention in some drafts or he would be way down in the second round. Thabeet is a man who benefitted from his height more than anyone in college basketball. There is no difference between Thabeet and Benoit Benjamin.

Monroe is the most talented big man in the draft after Griffin. He isn't soft he is a freshman there is a learning curve between college and High School basketball. If anything he played well. If the Knicks are in need of a BiG man and Monroe is there they would be wise to take him.

I think we should draft thabeet is this year draft because we need a big man more then anything. I seen thabeet play and yes he is raw but he has worked very hard this year and only thing we need him to do is rebound and block shots. If we get the number 1 pick is blake griffin and nobody else because he is the clear cut number 1 pick but if we don't get the number 1 pick it should be thabeet or jordan hill.

ive seen him play and heard gtown games on the radio. he doesnt impress me much right now. i think he needs to stay in school. he has no "mean streak" yet. some big guys have that factor: intimidation, great d, great post moves, outside shot, etc. he doesnt have the intimidation factor yet. ive said it before, maybe jt3's system is whats holding him back, however the few gtown fans i know dont think hes ready for the nba either.

Sid, this kid is very good. I think the fact that you seen him makes you think he isn't good or as a Gtown fan you expect more from him. Its very simlar to some on the board who think Chandler isn't good because they see him every day, but most know he has a lot of potential to be a very good player. Monroe is very good player and you must take into consideration that this kid is 18 years old. He is on the young side. Any player that is on the young side puts up numbers like that is going to be a solid player. He can learn to be aggressive in the NBA.
