How often are players like Monta and Kevin Martin even on the floor. Those are the guys who you hope he turns into, but he really doesn't have half their ability.

Maybe I'll be proven wrong someday, but I just don't buy it.

Gerry McNamara was triple teamed all the time too, but he isn't in the league. There's 40 guys I would take before Curry if it were up to me.

Gerry McNamera isn't half the player that Curry is...

Gerry, Reddick, Morrison, Langdon, Shamgod Shamgod, TJ Sorrentine, Brice Drew, Curry

Aren't they all the same player?

LOL at Bryce Drew. His whole career was based on that one shot in the tourney. that cat literally stole money from the rockets, or whatever dumbass organization drafted him.

I go a little overboard about it, but the Curry debate makes me crazy.

Look at the best teams in the East that keep taking our lunch money and pushing us into lockers. 76ers, Celts, FightingLeBrons, Hawks

They're all big, long, athletic, physical teams.

To think that we're going to finesse them is silly to me.

...And if you were playing for Davidson and had two and three guys running at you all the time, how many assists would you rack up? More than five...

This is just flat wrong. Have you watched Davidson? One of their players, other than Curry, might be an okay bench player on, say, St. Mary's but the rest of their guys this year are barely HS starters. Curry's a great passer but his team sucks.

Also, ...[he] has struggled against the big programs...

No, with one or two exceptions, he's played great against great players/programs.

That said, I do think Curry's going to get beat up in the NBA. Injuries and general longevity are going to be issues with him. Also, he's not quite as quick as I'd hope and, yeah, he's a bit small. I think he's a solid choice, worth a top 15 pick but, no, he's not going to save a bad team.

No2, so would he be a good pick for us or no?

I like curry.. talented kid, great shooter, underrated passer. Is a bit skinny, but I think he has the ability to get seperation to get his shot off.... I think he may be better than most think he will on the NBA level..

Watch him be great at the next level. I just don't see it.

Dude's a 45.6% shooter against 2nd level competition and has struggled against the big programs.

Warren and Derozan both shoot better against better competition in their freshman years if you're looking for shooting guards.

We've discussed a dozen or so PG's in this draft if you're looking for that.

That's completely correct, but it does leave out a lot of information about their shooting. While Curry does shoot 45.6 compared to DeRozan's 52.5 and Warren's 48 per cent, there's much more to it.

For one thing, Curry has to carry his teams load on offense, scoring about twice the amount of the other two per game (28.7 to 13.6 and 14.7). Also, while his schedule may be somewhat easier, he's constantly double and triple teamed because there's no one else on Davidson that defenders have to worry about. Furthermore Curry hits better from the arc (38.7 compared to 18.8 and 37.7) and from the foul line (87.6 compared to 64 and 78.1).

I'm not saying we should draft Curry over the other two, but he's easily the best shooter of the three. DeRozan, in particular, is a bad shooter and isn't in Curry's universe when talking about shooting the ball.

It´s a toss up. I think he´d be great in MDA´s system but I´m not sure he´s a drastic upgrade over Duhan, Robinson, and Hughes, at least in the short run. The team has other needs, a serviceable center, for one. I´d be delighted if the Knicks draft Curry but not too disappointed if they don´t.

Will Curry have a better career than, oh, Damon Stoudamire? Hmmm, if he avoids injury and lands on a team that moves him along slowly, maybe.

Dude, they almost upset UCLA... UCLA isn't as good as they've been in the past but they're still a damned fined team and VCU didn't have the element of surprise working in their favor. A kid that big, with that handle, and that cold-bloodedness I want running the point for the next 10+ years

So we're definitely speaking the same language broham...

Also, on the original post, I need to add, "pause"

Don't know if Tareke Evans will be around, but he might be the guy we take if we are looking at a PG, although you would expect that his performance in the tournament might give us reasons to pick or not pick him.

How tall is Curry? I have seen heights from 6'1" to 6'3." From what I have seen over the past few years, college heights are almost always suspect. Love and Beasley were both listed at about 6'10" until the pre-draft measurements came out saying they were 6'7.75" and 6'7" respectively. Add to Curry's height issue the fact that he is not the quickest and most explosive guy around, even though he has great court awareness and savvy.

I think the Knicks want someone to play PG who is a legit 6'3" to 6'5" who can penetrate, dish, play good D/not get muscled down low, and hit the midrange shot as well as drive to the basket and finish. I would expect that any PG we pick will have to meet most, if not all, of these standards, IMO.

Ive watched Curry all year. I like Curry but unless I was picking him up around 15-20 I think I will pass. I really like that Dereozan kid. Yes we need a PG and a C but more so we need an identity and a player we can build around and with. I like players with unusual physical talent. When I saw Derozan coming off the wing and dunking against UCLA driving into the middle of the lane against asu and his shot looked 100 times better with good form against both--I thought he reminded me of Dwyane Wade. He rebounds like Wade with a little more weight lifting he will have a body like wade I think he's a tad taller than Wade and just as athletic if not more so. Other than Blake Griffin I dont see one athlete in this draft with star potential other than Derozan. I think Thabeet will be a lot better than some think he will be but not at these two players level. This is where projection comes into play. You look at what the player has accomplished in his freshmen year--how he advanced his game and how his physical talent will translate to NBA ball. You could easily find a PG late in the draft who is superior to other players picked before him. I think there is only one griffin and one Derozan in this draft. Hopefully the schmucks who run the Knicks see the same thing but I highly doubt it. They'll take what they believe is the most ready PG in favor of better talent.

I'd be perfectly happy with Derozan where we'll be picking. You wonder where Maynor will go. I've seen him between late lottery and late 2nd round on different boards.

That would be a helluva duo to draft.

I don't like Maynor's flat shot, but hopefully he would be able to develop that. He's got the defense, the handle, the passing, and the mentality.
